Norm Dyer, (Norman Edward Dyer) was a real estate broker in 2018. As of June 2021 Norm is not listed as a REALTOR. I met Norm at a real estate brokerage in Huntsville when I was a real estate sales representative. Norm said he was an expert REALTOR and broker looking to open his own independent brokerage. Norm said we could start our own brokerage and make more money. Norm said he just needed some start up cash.
I had Norm sign a loan agreement, loaned him the money and then he would not provide any details as to how the brokerage would operate nor would he entertain any kind of shareholder agreement. The company he registered was Inspyr Realty Group In. Registry ID: 2627423 When I requested details of the loan repayment he broke off contact with me. I requested to be removed from the newly created brokerage and he became hostile stating that I would never get my money back.
He contacted me some time after that to propose a deal whereby I would exclusively list and sell his partially built home at (((REDACTED)))., Huntsville, Lake of Bays, Ontario, Canada that was in his common law wife's name. The property at (((REDACTED))). is listed as owned by Patricia Nadia Cecchetto. Norm stated that once the property sold I would receive my sales commission plus he would repay the loan in full. Regardless of whether or not the property sold Norm said that he would repay the loan in full.
I listed the property for several years, showed it to numerous potential buyers but it did not sell. Norm would not honour his debt and refused to pay back the loan. I referred the listing to another broker and he listed the property. The property received a private offer that Norm had stated that he had negotiated directly with the buyer, without the REALTOR's knowledge and had received $50,000.00 in cash as a deposit but the potential buyer apparently turned out to be a convicted real estate con artist according to Norm.
I continued to request repayment of the loan but was met with hostility from Norm and a threat of litigation if I had ever introduced the potential buyer (the apparent real estate con artist) to the property. Norm texted: "take me to court, wait in line and hope I don't claim bankruptcy." Any further attempts to offer Norm repayment options have gone unanswered. There have been no payments made on this loan to date. Anyone who has had similar experiences with Norm please contact your local police department to file a report. Feel free to post any information you have to share so that no one else gets scammed by Norm.
