Physicians Business Bureau, Chattanooga, TN Sent notice of debt I did not owe and would not answer letter asking for proof of debt. Lookout Mountain Tennessee

This collection agency sent me a notice saying I had a delinquent account with a doctor.  In actuality, I had gotten exactly one bill from that doctor and immediately called and told them to file on my insurance and they would be paid.  I told the collection agency this.  They were very rude over the phone.  Their notice said I could send a letter asking for proof of the debt. 

I sent the letter (2 pages) and never even received a reply.  What I got instead was a second notice saying that, if I did not pay within 24 hours, they would take drastic action.  I called the office and got the same rude, uncaring man.  He could not say why I was not answered but that if I did not pay within 20 days, my credit rating would be ruined.  This is shameful business and totally unprofessional.
