Entered into contract to repair and remodel apartemnt in Miami Beach june 2022. Thought to be a friendly honest Italian. Paid deposit of $33K.
Never saw him again. No work done. Police and lawyers said let it go. When the police asked to pay it back ... on the telephone. He faked not speaking English and uses the refrain....'call my advocate'
I could not incur anymore fees out of pocket having lost this money therfore did not pursue lawyers. Not that he may be able to pay it back
Married immediately after stealing the money and there was jewlery bought
How can such a situation be immune from indictement
something do obvious
He was fined for setting fire to his girlfriends car as we saw in the newspapers. In Fort Lauderdale on Linkdn

Lack Of COMMON SENSE

Those who lost their money did so due to THEIR LACK OF COMMON SENSE! You NEVER give a deposit for that type of work. You place it in an escrow account and the contractor doesn't get it until the work is done. If the contractor says "we need the money to buy materials", they are FULLY ADMITTING they are on shakey ground financially. Every contractor in good standing has accounts with suppliers to get materials.
