I fell victim of a scam

I saw an ad on facebook for a free sample of cbd oil. All I had to do is pay the shipping charges. I filled out my information and read all the fine print and I did not see anything about a 14-day trial or cancellation or shipping any other product. The checkout page had no website address on it. I even saved the terms and conditions, but it turns out that what got saved was only one page with customer service information and 10 empty pages from “Ethical trusted products” with the same phone number as the one on their confirmation: 855-439-7546.

I received a confirmation from healthycbdproducts.com with the following link that was not found when I clicked on it. It said: The requested URL /www.cbdsavingsdirect.com/terms.html was not found on this server. The confirmation e-mail also said you will be billed by Bio Shop. I remember thinking: How many names does this company go by? Should have been a red flag!

I received the free sample and I used it for three days. It tasted nasty, oily and had a strong mint flavor. It also gave me a stomach ache. So I stopped using it.

When my credit card statement came, I noticed there was a $95.21 charge from Bio Shop. Since I did not order any product, I decided to call them. The guy who answered (Derek) tried to explain that the bottle was a trial and that they would bill me for it if I kept it beyond 14 days. I said that there was no such explanation on what I read on the order screen and that he needs to reverse the charge. He said that I have a subscription and that they will be shipping more product.

I told him that this is a scam and that if he thinks I have a subscription to cancel it right away. That was on 10/5/20. I received 2 cancellations from them on two different orders on 10/13/20. Why two? Who knows!  By that time I decided to dispute the charges with my credit card company. I cancelled my old credit card and I have an ongoing dispute now. This shady company is sending my credit card company all kinds of fabricated evidence to which I will be responding. In the meantime, I am warning all my friends and filing a rip-off report with any website that offers the opportunity to complain.
