PropertyRec Identity Protection Service, Bait and Switch; Unauthorized Charge Internet

Offered a partially complete description of residential data for an ostensible fee of $1.00. Provided report which was next to useless (generic, inaccurate). Made several attempts via email and text message to upgrade service, all of which were rejected. On 2/17/2025 attempted a $20.00 charge to my debit card. Accessed their website for a chat where the rep (Patrick) claimed I had subscribed to their "volume discount." Allegedly, I "may have done so accidentally." When I stated I would initiate a charge back, "Patrick" said he would issue a credit for $20. Within an hour, the pending charge was withdrawn.

Although this did not result in any financial loss, it would have been a recurring $20 monthly charge had I not noticed the pending charge and called. I consider this an obvious bait and switch.
