Replace roof and build one room addition over concrete patio

Scott was very friendly at first and seemed knowledgeable in what I wanted done. He then lied about how the job was being completed (after I paid him for what he said would be done). They did very sloppy, substandard work, used cheap materials (such as 2x4 instead of required 2x8/10s), did not install windows properly, used uneven cut boards/plyboard, and did poor work with siding/ trim. 

I had him add to an existing concrete patio and he said he'd do all work to code.  What a lie!  He didn't pour footers.  He just framed the area with 2x4s and dumped the concrete on the ground to create a slab.  We already have several cracks in the concrete. He built the addition directly on the concrete without any type of water barrier or termite shield.

He installed half of our new metal roof directly over the old shingles after we agreed that he was to remove ALL shingles and replace plyboard before installing the metal roof. He told me this had to be done because there were already two layers of roof on our house, which was a lie.  He has now abandoned the job and we have nothing done to validate the over $30,000.00 he was paid to do the job.

He was paid this amount because each time ANY change was made, he stated that "any change orders are due at the time of the change."  He asked for must of the money in cash, took our money, and never finished the job. He left the roofing sheets(we paid for) lay in our yard all winter and didn't return to complete the job because he had numerous code violations and the structure he tried to build was deemed an unsafe structure by Commonwealth Code Services which the township ultimately condemed.   I would not recommend this business to anyone.     

I am mad at myself for not taking the time to research Scott Kleiman, Tara King, and Quality Exteriors.  If I had, I would have seen the long list of other people who have left reviews similar to mine and all of the criminal and civil cases that they have been charged with over the years.  I have included copies of the zoning officer's letter and the district magistrate's ruling on the zoning violations.

Do yourself a favor and check out all of the reviews and cases in the York, Lancaster, Cumberland, and Lebanon County before you are enticed by his low price guarantees.  You will be glad you looked before you gave them any money!!!
