Radamia Kennel Jelena Bajeva Radamia Dogos and Lagotti uses sire with severe hip dysplasia Abbotsford British Columbia

I purchased a puppy from Jelena Bajeva / Radamia Kennel's July 13 2020 litter. I later found out that in 2019, her vet had already told her that the sire she uses in her breeding program, Mango, had bad hips.  She did not disclose this information to me even though I specifically asked about health testing.  She also concealed this information from her website.

Her website stated that all her dogs were screened for hips and patellas. She later told me that just because a dog is screened doesn't mean the results are good.  She also didn't get Mango's hips OFA-tested until December 2020. Which means her website was deceptive in stating that all dogs were screened.  She told me she didn't consider the vet's opinion as results since he is not a radiologist.

In January 2021 she finally published the results of his OFA screening on her website, which showed he had severe hip dysplasia. This increases the chance of the puppies in her breeding program getting this painful condition.

She claims it is not proven that hip dysplasia is genetic which is why she continues using him. She claims the way the dogs are raised is more important. If that's the case, why is her dog severely dysplastic? Is she not raising them well?

Besides the serious issue of hip dysplasia, there are other unethical breeding practices.  She admits that all her adults have umbilical hernias, as a result her puppies normally have this as well. Generally this is not serious (although in some cases it can be).  But in general, breeders are advised not to breed dogs with umbilical hernias since they should be improving the breed.

Mango also seems to have some sort of skin condition, possibly vitiligo, on his nose and mouth that seems to be getting progressively worse.  This is another trait that would stop ethical breeders from using a dog in their breeding program.

She also tells her puppy buyers to purchase NuVet which is an MLM scheme for her to make more money. Our vet advised against using the product since there is no scientific proof of it providing any real benefits.

Unfortunately Jelena is having litter after litter and is not willing to compensate for the deception when she was asked about health, or the risk she has added to the puppies. Prior to 2021, puppy buyers were not given all the relevant information about Mango's health, and were denied the ability to make an informed decision.

Additionally, my puppy was dropped by Jelena and was injured to the point where she was limping for a day or two. Jelena did not tell me about this, another puppy buyer witnessed it. When I asked Jelena, she downplayed it but the witness confirmed the severity of the fall. The puppy was denied any sort of vet care after the fall 

I would recommend avoiding this kennel based on her unethical breeding practices and her character.
