Roosevelt Law Center This company was supposed to be getting me a modification since March of 2021, by July when I spoke to my mortgage company nothing was ever processed. After speaking with my case mgr I request a refund and my calls had stopped being answered until I contacted the BBB. They have since taken $1400.00, but stated they don’t have a refund policy. I am in risk of foreclosure thanks to these people. Oceanside California

My mortgage company case manager told me that I needed to pay the mortgage in full which by July is now 7 months behind, because I paid this company a total of $2100. In 3 Zelle installments. After speaking with my case mgr I request a refund and my calls had stopped being answered until I contacted the BBB.
They have since taken $1400.00, but stated they don’t have a refund policy. I don’t feel like I should lose my home, because of unethical business practices. I am on SSDI and my fund are limited. These people understood that. They did nothing and want me to pay over priced rebates for calls etc. Their refund is a joke at best and a total betrayal from a company I entrusted with my largest purchase my home and I am in risk of foreclosure thanks to these people. I
understand them wanting a fee for attempting the modification, but $1400.00 Is excess especially since they did not deliver what they told me they could and that is a modification. Their so called specialty. These people are unprofessional and crooks! Cynthia Bassett

Even if the mortgage modification is done by a law firm, it is still illegal for them to require payment up front. They know that. They also know that the vast majority of people don't know that. They must get the modification before charging you.
I bet the report you filed here is what got your money back.
I've been helping consumers get out of mortgage rescue scams for 10 years, work with law enforcement, and with the State Bar of California.

They Are Crooks, Right?

When YOU bought this place, YOU signed a contract which stated YOU would make EACH AND EVERY PAYMENT on time, every time! That’s a FACT! Being a "crook”, means somebody takes or deprived someone of something which is theirs.
As per YOUR OWN CONFESSION here, YOU deprived the lender of what is theirs...the repayment of the loan. You now come here to cry and whine and call them crooks??? If there is a foreclosure, it’s 100% because YOU FAILED TO REPAY THUS defaulting on the loan.
That foreclosure will be caused by YOU and not them! Don’t bother wasting your efforts, I’ll tell you ahead of time, I don’t work for them!

As of 2/07/2023 Roosevelt Law Center has made me whole by refunding the balance owed to me. I would like to retract the derogatory comments made by me and I am requesting that report #1511435 be removed.
