ROUTE 66 is a BROKER, there is ABSOLUTELY NO REASON TO USE A BROKER. ROUTE 66 is a SCAM. My elderly mother found Route 66 and entered into a contract with them before I could intervene. They charged her nearly 1000 USD !!! And for what ??? Finding a moving company ??? The moving company they assigned us did not even have their own trucks, they were renting them !
We dealt with GRANT, SEBASTIAN and MARISSA at Route 66. Grant grossly "miscalculated" the amount of items to be moved and we were charged another 1500 USD by the movers, needless to say we would have chosen a different mover !
Do not be fooled by the huge number of great reviews on other sites, they are for a similarly named moving company out of California !

Hello Sir/Madam,
Thank you for expressing your concerns in regards to this matter. My name is Lenny Cooper, I am the disptach manager here at Route 66 Relocation. First and foremost you are not the actual person who moved, your mother is the one who moved so I don't t believe you know the full scope of what happened.
On 7/23/19 Grant, one of my relocation specialists setup your mothers move from Illinois to Texas. She made a down payment of $874.64 to reserve a truck with one of our licensed and insured carriers. She were clearly informed that we are a broker and it's written every where on the estimate she signed.
On 8/7/2019 she was contacted by Sebastian, our quality assurance manager, to go through the inventory with her again before the movers arrived. She added on an ottoman and a bench. On the day of the move, when the movers arrived, she had way more stuff than what she told us about. Dozens of extra boxes and additional furniture. When the movers explained to her this would cost extra she had a panic attack and called our customer service department screaming, demanding to know why the price went up. When we explained it to her she refused to listen and hung up the phone.
You are now writing this review. I don't believe this review is an accurate representation of what happened. She clearly had more than what she told us and expected the overall price to remain the same and when it didn't she automatically went to "they are a scam".
