At Sakina Center-
very poorly organized center. they may be surviving on non profit status but do not provide services as they claim.
I took my son to sakina center which apparently accepts medicaid but after hours of counciling they had no phyciatrist or phychologist on staff, everyone volunteers their time therefore they have no interest to fully pay attention to your kid, doctors come once a month and encourage you to bring your child to their private practices.
Please avoid taking your kids to them and make sure that they have doctors on staff not once a month or with interest of their private practices. Councilors Fatima Sultan and Anila khawja are not friendly at all, they cancel on your appointments all the time.
save your kids and go to professionals.

Sakina Center is a mental health center dedicated to serve the Houston Muslim community. We provide one on one counseling & psycho-education presentations.
Sakina Center for Behavioral Health is an agency that provides mental health services to the Muslim community in the Greater Houston Metropolitan area. We offer a variety of therapeutic services to help individuals and families, including counseling, psychiatric services and premarital education.
It is NON PROFIT!!! What do you expect?? Everyone member of the psychiatric team are probably volunteers!!! And NO if they are non profit they do not have the funds to HIRE Drs!!! As far as their "councilers" - please learn to spell the word properly. What is the reason your child is on Medicaid???? Since you mentioned it in your report I have the right to ask. AND what is the reason he needs "counciling"??? FYI no psychiatrist is going to accept a Medicaid patient unless they have other payment options ie: you will have to pay the 90 plus percent Medicaid does not pay for.
