Sameer Chopra an attorney in Garden City, NY agreed to take my case as long as I paid him a retainer of $50,0000. He told me he thought I had a good case and should stand to win for approximately $500,000. From the beginning though he said he would not take my case on a contingency basis. So I paid him the $50,000.

After about a year of Sameer Chopra doing virtually no work except unsolicited phone calls and emails to me and my wife he told me my case was weak but that he was still working on getting me a decent settlement. At that point he had charged me about half of the retainer ($25,000).

I told him to keep working on it and after another 6 months he told me that I should consider a settlement for $10,000 and that was the very best I could do. At that point he billed me for not only the full $50,000 but an additional $5,000 for time he spent on negotiations.  Sameer Chopra is a crooked lawyer. Do not use his services!
