To whom it may concern,

I am writing in hopes that you can help me or direct me to someone that can. I bought a Jeep with the help of my mom co-signing for me. I am a victim of auto fraud, and I am having trouble finding help. Either the attorneys don't take that kind of lawsuit, they have to many cases, or they are in the pocket of the dealership. I have proof of every claim that I make regarding the transactions dealing with this dealership.  I was asked what expenses I was out of during this process. I was stranded for 3 weeks while they made repairs although they kept telling me it would be ready in a few days.

I put $1500.00 down cash. I've spent about $8914.00 to date with out-of-pocket expenses and it is still rising as my engine light is still coming on. (not including gas) I pay $21.00/month extra between the first 2 contracts plus a 16.16% finance charge, according to several mailings that is high for someone with great credit. Plus, the $300 on the price of the car and the finance charge. Also 7.5% sales tax to FL. My last temp tag expired 10-03-2024. I have no other vehicle to drive.  These are pretty easy to figure out.

But how do you put a price on the following:

I was not able to be in Ga when I planned to take my mom to see her twin brother who is really sick and now no longer knows who she is. I was also supposed to be in Ga to help her put to sleep a 16-yr old family pet. I was also supposed to help my son out in college there with a class he was having trouble in. I did not make it in time, and he failed that class.

How do I put a price on missing my grandson's first fourth of July? My family has a strong military background. My son is a disabled vet, my brother is a vet, my dad was a vet.

How do I price not being there for my daughter and her three children when I was supposed to be there to help with childcare and work while her car broke down?

I had to put my photography on hold. I was starting up my photography. Just in the few months of getting up and running, I've had 3 photos printed. One in a book, one in a magazine and one being featured in Barcelona Spain this coming Jan 2025 that now I can’t attend. I also have a client that uses my pics on his Facebook account to get more campers in. And now, I'm at a standstill.

How do you put a price on the mental stress this has caused me and my mom? My mom was starting to have black outs from all the stress. My fibro flares up more with stress. I am disabled and so is my mom.

How do you price being threatened for grand theft and jail time when you have done nothing wrong but purchase a car that was NEEDED…not just a want.

How do you price all the phone calls, emails, time?

And it just doesn't stop there. I am now currently facing having to refinance a car with all this added money. They sent a e-title to Ga and Ga says I have to have Ga insurance since my mom's name is first. The bank sent a letter and told me what to get for AL title, but AL courthouse says that the dealership or whoever has to send the money for the taxes and that with my mom's name first, it has to be GA. The bank has since asked for the mailing address for AL courthouse, but it won't do any good without the tax money or with my mom's name first. I bought the car. My mom was ONLY supposed to be a co-signer. And now, it's the other way around. How do you price all this?? How does one even fix this? I have never bought a car without being married. Is this a single lady’s punishment for being alone and needing to buy a car? Is this what older people have to worry about also?

At what point is this acceptable for businesses to treat people this way? Much less, all the attorneys that I have reached out to. I don't think any person at the dealership nor the attorneys that won't help because of political ties, would appreciate it if this was their mom, daughter, sister, girlfriend, friend, aunt, grandmother etc.

I understand I am just one small person on this earth amongst many bigger people, however, that does not make me any less important. Without people like me, there wouldn’t be 13 dealership locations for Sandy nor a reason for Capital One to have an open business for loans. I tried everything to keep it from court, even to the point of just eating the money I had put out, but to no avail. And on top of that, it still isn't close to being fixed.

I have yet to receive any paperwork that I have signed at the dealership and was told that I had to sign blank efiles before receiving them.

I have filed complaints with FL DAs office, FTC, and even tried to file a police report in FL. I filed a report in Prattville, AL. I have all the proof you need to see in regard to my claims that I have to send to the person that can help me. I don't want time to be against me and this has been proven to be near impossible for common folks to find the help they need. I have additional evidence that I can provide including, recordings, text messages, emails, screen shots and pictures.

Thanks for any and all help that you can give me.

The Usual

AUTHOR: Irv - (United States)

POSTED: Sunday, March 23, 2025

Did you even bother to READ what your were agreeing to BEFORE you agreed to it? Why in the world would you go along with $1000 FAKE FEE??? What about that package they add to the sale whether you want it or not? When you go to the grocery store, do they add items to your bags and tell you to pay for them whether you want them or not? The FAKE FEE con-game and the DEALER INSTALLED OPTIONS OR PACKAGES con-game whether you want them or not are nothing more than the slime ball dealer admitting to you HONESTY AND INTEGRITY are definitely NOT practiced there and you cannot trust them for anything.

A few things

AUTHOR: Flint - (United States)

POSTED: Saturday, March 22, 2025

First, if you bought the car "as is", which most likely is the case, any repairs on it are your own responsibility.  It's always wise to have your own mechanic inspect the car prior to agreeing to buy it, and have the dealer repair any issues BEFORE you sign any paperwork.  If the dealer has a problem with that, then you have your answer -- the car is almost certainly a lemon.  I guarantee you this car came straight from the local auto auction and probably cost about half of what you paid.  Auction cars are rarely in good condition.  They are trade-ins, and people usually trade in their car for a reason.

Second, a co-signer is not "just a co-signer" if the car is titled in their name.  And the onus is on you to shop around for a good interest rate.  Usually getting pre-approved for a loan from a local bank or credit union is a far better deal than getting whatever rip-off financing the dealership offers.

Third, you should NEVER, EVER sign ANYTHING without reviewing a filled-out, printed copy.  And you should always sign two copies, one for them and one for yourself.  If they tell you they can't do that because reasons, you can turn around and leave.  The only reason someone would have you sign blank pages is if they want to scam you.
