Our company prepaid $5200 for Smash Company to find us a roofing salesperson.  After receiving about a dozen candidates or more that were substandard, we finally found three that we were will to give a shot.  Each candidate that is kept after the evaluation period of 60 days would cost the company $5000.  Smash provides a "specialized testing report" for each candidate they send that is supposed to fit the profile of a successful sales person.   We found that report useless.

The first of the three candidates they sent decided it was not a good fit after about 3 weeks.  No problem.  Second candidate got covid three weeks into the evaluation time and spent 3 weeks recovering.  We inquired with Smash to see if we could get an extension as we didn't get the appropriate time to evaluate the candidate.  We were told basically too bad, the deadline is the deadline, no exceptions.

The third candidate we let stay around out of desperation trying to give this candidate every chance, but finally parted ways 3 days after the 60 day period.  We asked for them to send us other candidates so we could at least fill the one slot.  They again said too bad, the contract is the contract and although a couple of days is not very much over the deadline,  it is still past the agreed time period.

We complained and were told by our sales girl that she would no longer communicate with us but that the owners would contact us.  That was two weeks or more now.  We are out the $5200 and really received no really qualified candidates.  Could do better with Indeed.   It seems that after talking with the candidates, Smash poaches candidates from Indeed, adds this fairly useless assessment test and then charges at least $5000.

My advice to employers looking to use Smash Co's staffing services is to stay away.....
