Our group of 6 traveling to Nashville for a 40th birthday celebration had a TERRIBLE experience with Stay Local Nashville that was filled with an extreme lack of professionalism and disappointment overall. Upon arrival to our location (at the agreed upon check-in time) the home was unclean from the previous renters. Absolutely filthy (trash left out, unflushed toilets, dirty sheets on all beds, used towels, etc). We contacted management immediately and after being given a total runaround, we were told they’d be unable to have the home cleaned that day but they’d relocate us to a nearby property for the night.

This nearby property was not of the same quality and size as our original property AND we were asked to drag our suitcases to the new location after dark to relocate. This home is nice, however, it is in a very unsafe area of town. We were told by several Uber drivers and food delivery individuals that this was a “bad and unsafe neck of the woods”.  Most certainly not somewhere we should be walking around with our belongings after dark, to say the least! After getting to the substitute property for the night, we discovered that it too was unclean and still dirty from the previous renters. Are you kidding me! We again called the management to notify them. Shortly after around 11pm, 2 people unexpectedly walked in to clean the location unannounced.





Stay Local has a whole page on their rules and regulations dedicated to COVID-19 where they reassure guests over and over of their rigorous cleaning and safety procedures (and that includes contactless cleaning). That is completely a false claim. The 2 individuals “cleaned” the home in 90 minutes and then left while our group of 6 was asked to sit in a basement bunkbed room and wait. They basically changed the sheets and left clean towels. A completely unsatisfactory cleaning. The following day we moved back to our original home and finished the remainder of our stay there. While the home is definitely in an unsafe area, it is as pictured on the Airbnb website.

There is a train that runs behind the property that’s rather loud and disturbing. It’s quite loud and runs at all hours of the day and night. We were woken up by it several times during our stay. We were given several different promises from the representatives at Stay Local during all this fiasco (including a full refund) and in the end we were refunded absolutely nothing! They initially offered us a partial refund for 1 night (literally a fraction of what we paid per night) and the cleaning fee but ONLY if we agreed to sign a non-disparagement agreement and not write anything negative in a review. What a joke! A professional and respectable company would have remedied the situation fairly with compensation vs attempting to bully us into silence. I’m not that desperate for a few hundred dollars. I would absolutely recommend you find somewhere else to stay that’s in a safer area and managed more professionally. Absolutely not worth it for the price you’ll pay to stay here. Overall, a very disappointing experience. Nashville, on the other hand, is a fun city and worth a visit!!

 Company fixed the issue and I have been provided with full refund. After leaving my review on Facebook and sending a message through Facebook I was contacted by the owner who was very apologetic for the issues we incurred during our stay. They have issued us a full refund for our stay and have genuinely apologized for the situation we were placed in. I feel they have rectified the situation and I am happy with the outcome.
