Sundance Now charged annual fee after canceling within free trial period New York NY

I signed up for a Free 7 day trial for Sundance Now and canceled   under "my account" in the app within the trial period. 

Several weeks later I noticed my credit card statement showed that I had been charged the annual subscription fee of $59.99. I tried to reach them by phone but the website states there is no phone number option for customer service.  I contacted them by submitting a ticket on the support page but they did not respond.  A second ticket was submitted.  Sundance Now responded telling us that the account is still showing as active and stated if there is an issue with their cancelation process they would like to know for further investigation.

They also sent instructions on how to cancel.  We reviewed the instructions and noted that they indicated not to cancel on the app.  However, as mentioned above, the option to cancel on the app exists,  without any indication that it would not be valid or work.  We logged into the account and noted that the cancelation option was no longer there and instead a "reactivate" option showed, confirming that the account was canceled. We responded and asked to be sent confirmation of cancelation as well as a refund of the annual fee.  Sundance Now replied and refused to refund the annual fee.
