I met Tom Dottavi at a waverunner event. He said he owned a buisness Adrenaline motorsports that tuned high performance waverunners. He had a website, tee shirts, buisness cards, shop etc, seemed legit. I made an appointment to have my waverunner tuned by him. I dropped it off to his shop and a few days later I got a call that it was done. I went and picked it up and paid my bill. A couple of days later I took it out on the water to test it. It ran terrible, was much slower then when I dropped it off and would barely run to the point of it breaking down and having to be towed back. I called him and he said he would take care of it. I dropped it off, after not hearing from him I called and he said he was still working on it. Three weeks had passed and I called him again, he said it would be ready tommorrow. Well, about 600 the next morning I got a knock at my door by the police, they were there to tell me my waverunner was stolen from Tom Dottovis house/shop. I called him and was suprised he didnt call me himself. He said it was stolen about 500 that morning and his ring camera didnt get a picture of it because the battery was dead. I wasnt too concerened because I assumed his shop insurance would cover it. That is when I found out his buisness was not legit or legal and he had no insurance. I asked about his homeowners insurance and found out that it wasnt his house/garage and he just rented a room there and was allowed to use the garage. He didnt even have renters insurance. I asked him what he was going to do about it and he agreed to make good for my waverunner and trailer as soon as he sold his waverunner. I checked in with him about every two weeks and he kept saying he didnt sell it yet but did prder my new trailer. Well after a few months he blocked my number and is now hiding from me refusing to make good on his promise to make good on it. I really believe that he blew up my waverunner and then had it stolen the night before he was to give it back. Tom Dottavi is a liar and a thief that runs a halfassed illegal uninsured buisness out of his backyard. He has ruined other waverunners in the area as well. I guess shame on me for not checking into him deeper. He is nothing but a coward that hides from people.
