These people are the worst. What a bunch of thieves. They have been at it for YEARS. The authorities themselves have been disappointing. They want me to pay off criminals. What is wrong with THAT picture? So it can continue with someone else? NO WAY! Here comes the blitz now. One letter EVERY SINGLE AGENCY.

I will NOT let this go because nobody wants to stop them.  Someone will listen when EVERYONE is notified. If I could get revocation before, I'll do it again. If they were fair, they would offer a solution AFTER slapping violations and not a minute before. I'll take it all the way to congress if I must but I intend to do the right thing. I will NEVER allow others to be victimized and let these thieves get off.

Radio, TV, phone, government, AMSA, EVERYONE will know who they are. The complaints are numerous and never-ending from customers being stolen from, ripped off, lied too, attacked, money and weapons are gone, no lading to know which is what, NOTHING. Eventually, when being peppered with calls and letters, someone will do something.

Moron

AUTHOR: Jim - (United States)

POSTED: Tuesday, July 09, 2019

I wasn't the one who decided to choose an online mover moron.  I'm not the one who has to "pay off criminals" per your own words.  You want the FMCSA and the DOT and the AMSA to know who they are?  All of these agencies you contacted know who they are - they happen to either be or were members of the AMSA, so it would be really impossible for the AMSA to not know who they are.

The AMSA gets membership fees from these companies so the AMSA has no interest to bad mouth these scam movers.  These same movers also happen to be members of the BBB.  Do you think the BBB is going to bad mouth a company who paid dues to them?  No.  One of these movers you cited had over 630 complaints in a 36 month period with the BBB a number of years ago.  Their rating with the FL BBB?  A-.

You then double up on your stupidity by claiming you ran the MC number on the safersys website, right and it told you nothing.  Do you really think that was enough due diligence?  How stupid are you...(that isn't a question - that's a statement).  On top of it, you were also stupid enough to forget to mention that before you checked any of these movers out on safersys, you went to a moving website and found these movers.

How do I know?  Because websites like moving.com is where guys like this live.  That's why you were scammed.  These are all very familiar names to anyone in the industry.  They all operate the same way and you are the stupider for it.

So sit in a corner and I will now tell you what due diligence you should have done...

Did you follow any of the tips the AMSA give?  Clearly not.  One of the first things they ask is "Did you get 3 in-home estimates?"  None of the companies you listed do this (and I mean none of them).  Did you get the booklet "Your Rights and Responsibilities" prior to you move handed to you by the mover prior to the move?  No because none of these mover never came to your house.

How much research did you do regarding interstate moving prior to the move?  If you didn't know these 2 things from the start, then you really did nothing.  So you did none of the due diligence you should have.  This is why you're a moron for claiming self-righteousness while contributing to the problem.

But I'm so nice that I'll even give you a tip you should have done that the AMSA, the FMCSA, or anyone else won't give you.  Here is a website...  www.movingscam.com that helps consumers avoid ripoffs during a move.  It is run by people who either have been scammed or moving professionals who don't want to see people get scammed.

They provide consumers all of the information in one site what to do when preparing for an interstate move.  I guarantee that if you had gone to this website and made some inquiries about any of these companies, they would have told you STOP and then told you to start your search all over again.

Once you do all of what I just told you, then you will be a whole lot smarter about interstate moving, and a whole lot stupider for doing none of these things in the first place.

Don't be dumb enough to embarrass yourself publicly. What did I do Mr. Wisenheimer? I ran the d**n number and they came up squeaky clean. Why? because under AMSA Mr. know it all but knows nothing at all, they CREATED a fake company and registered it with them so when people like me do their 'due diligence' they appear legituimate.

So take a corner and shut your trap because these are professional criminals that no agency has enough resources to corral unless people like me educate them instead of losers like you bytching at activists. be disgusting elsewhere. This is not the forum to thwart our efforts without looking like an employ of the same crime syndicate, Felicia

You Don't Think the AMSA, The DOT, (and others) Don't Know Who They Are??

They want me to pay off criminals. What is wrong with THAT picture?  Perhaps you wouldn't have to pay had you decided to not hire them in the first place??  How much due diligence did you do before you got yourself into this mess?  Is it somewhere around ZERO?

But no, you went online.  You found these people.  Sounds like they lost a bunch of stuff.  Are you covered in such a situation?  Nope.  The reason you have to pay is that you have a valid contract that says you have to pay and if you don't, the mover can actually take you to court to force payment.

The authorities themselves have been disappointing.  There's nothing for them to do.  I've even seen the police simply tell a customer pay up if you want your items back.  A move is nothing more than a written contract between you and the mover.  It's a civil matter, not a criminal one.

The truth:  The reason companies like this are in business is because of people like you.  I mean you call them criminals but there is nothing criminal they do.  They operate within the guidelines of Federal Law, the DOT allows it to continue because...well...it's legal what they're doing.  Moving is really expensive but you contacted all of these movers in Florida, or New Jersey, or even Georgia to see if they can move you for cheap.  Full service moves are not intended for anyone but the rich, but online companies low-ball you in, give you a price over the phone but in reality the price is not binding because...moving contracts are in writing.  The price comes the day the mover shows up, and now you're lost.  They lose half your items, but since there is no cube sheet, there is no proof the items even existed.  The lost items aren't covered by valuation, so you lose out.  You can't sue because Federal Law (Carmack Amendment) prevents you from collecting anything additional from a mover other than what's in a contract.

Over the last 15-20 years, there are groups and organizations who have lobbied to change the way the industry works.  I personally met a number of years ago with 3 congresspeople.  It's not that they don't care.  The problem is that there's nothing they can do because of course Congress created this mess in the late 1970's when the Interstate Commerce Commission was eliminated and its activities shunted off to the DOT.  Once you begin to realize there is no one willing to do anything, the only thing you can do is advise people to do their due diliegence BEFORE a move, find a mover local to you and get a quote in writing from them, and then evaluate.  If the price is too expensive, then do the move yourself.

If you name movers, then one day they will simply close up shop, and repoen in a month with a new name and new address (sometimes not even a new address).  Then your complaint falls on deaf ears.

someone will do something...no, actually if they haven't done anything in 40 years to change the situation, then nothing is going to happen.  They know it very well too...
