I was contacted by Mr. Nathan Short with United Tax Defense and was told he could help me with my tax debt. He asked for $495 to start looking over my case. I told him I couldn't pay that so he offered $395. When he mentioned "if I wasn't happy with the resolution my money would be fully refunded" I agreed. He called me a couple of days later to tell me what I owed the IRS then asked me for an additional 6k to start working on my case. He was actually going to take that money from me without even providing me with an outcome. I declined and asked for my refund. 3-5 business days is what he told me. It's been about 12-14 business days and my calls go straight to his voicemail. When I call the main number if they happen to answer, they tell me someone will call me the next day. Needless to say I'm still waiting. As of this morning 4/18/2025 I had my wife call and leave voicemail on Mr. Shorts phone(an unfamiliar number to him) he called right back. He was obviously not prepared to answer what was going on with the refund so he HUNG UP ON HER! This company, these people are CROOKS! The only way others will know this is and put a stop to this is by writing reviews, file complaints and report them to the right authorities.

VERY FEW of these tax resolution places operate within the guidelines of HONESTY and INTEGRITY. They push the possibility of an OFFER IN KIND where you pay less money as if your case is almost guaranteed to qualify. The FACT is MOST TAX PAYERS DO NOT QUALIFY and these tax resolution trash already know this when looking over your figures BEFORE you send them money. They then take your money anyway. Another sorry fact is that a certain allegedly Christian radio broadcasting chain gladly takes advertising from the trash. Find an "ENROLLED AGENT" , a person who does this kind of work where you will be dealing with a higher level of integrity.
