So, during the hiring interview last week on Thursday, I was given a uniform issue and told to go to work at the post at Malco Theatres Front Street (Memphis) - no hiring paperwork was done electronically or on paper at that time (or ever - remember, it was an emergency) - there was no mechanism to pay me. Chris Edens (alleged owner) told me $22.50/hour at the interview. There were a lot of problems with supervisors and guards (it really looked like some serious mental illness on their part - they seemed bipolar II or autistic - they could not make or hold a conversation or it seemed like they were "stoned" on drugs). Every day went by where I would usually hold an emergency, unannounced post, but there was still no hiring paperwork done electronically or on paper - there was no mechanism to pay me. I was suddenly viewed as a chronic complainer because I asked about it, but there is something about the company that just seems fraudulent. Today, Tuesday September 26 (the day after my last assignment - well within the state's 5-day guideline), all gear issue was turned in at their office and the only person there (when I told him about what was going on in the early afternoon after lunch was over) "didn't know 'nuttin." Why would you continue to allow freaks like this to operate a business anywhere or in Memphis, TN? This complaint has been turned in to the BBB - evidently this security company does not subscribe to the BBB way of doing business since their profile does not exist and the BBB does not show them as a member. I have paper copies of all cell phone texts between myself and the owner/supervisors and copies of the watch bill where I stood these 5 shifts [totaling 37 hours] as well as the satellite tracks of all rounds on each post listed from their own listing of posts stood and hours earned (which is provided to the guards). This looks like a matter for the State Attorney General (it looks like theft of services and none of their people respond to repeated phone calls or provide any assistance whatsoever).
