Wendy de la Cruz (aka Delacruz) convinced me that she was a landscape designer with experience and that she was a docent at Lotus Land. She snapped a few pics and did some editing on the pics, she also walked the neighborhood with my wife and discussed various plants. She used credibility as a 'dog rescue' person and assured me that I could trust her.....but once she got the money she disappeared and delivered on nothing!

Her contract was for design plans, supplies, plants and installation. I repeatedly asked her to finalize the plans with my wife and she never responded. She finally responded with huge apologies and excused about her personal life and drama with a room mate. She promised to come to the jobsite to meet the landscape crew and did a no-show! Once she got me upset enough that I gave her some attitude, she used that as an excuse to walk away. At one point she offered to refund some of the money but never made good on it, she explained that she took my money and supposedly used it on another job (so unprofessional). 

I contacted Lotus Land and sure enough, they never heard of her, she lied. She also disclosed to my wife that she had actually never done a full landscape before. 

I sued her in small claims, she remained hidden in her house as the sheriff tried to serve her. I had her privately served but she didn't show-up for court (big surprise). The judge award judgment for $3,050 and she won't even respond. Neighbors report that she's scammed several people and has issues.
