We signed a contract with Wyndham Destinations in May 2024, trusting their offer of a flexible vacation program. What we found instead was a maze of restrictions. Reservations required excessive advance notice and rarely allowed travel during reasonable family vacation times. We tried multiple times to book a trip, only to be met with cancellations and unavailability.
By September 2024, we were facing serious financial difficulties and sent multiple requests to cancel our contract. We even sent a certified letter with proof of delivery in April 2025 — but Wyndham ignored everything. Instead of helping us, they transferred our account to a collection agency (Pinnacle Recovery) without warning, which destroyed our credit score.
We visited Wyndham’s Orlando office in person, hoping for a solution. Instead, they told us we had to go to Los Angeles to resolve the issue. We were later contacted by someone who spoke our language, only to be told that nothing could be done—even after explaining our difficult circumstances, including our daughter’s neurological treatment for epilepsy and our other daughter’s severe food allergies. Stability is crucial to our family, but Wyndham made our situation worse.
Just two days after Wyndham responded to our online reviews (on Trustpilot and Google), my wife’s credit score dropped over 130 points on TransUnion and Equifax—clearly demonstrating retaliatory reporting. This behavior is extremely unethical.
We cannot rent a new home now, since our current lease ends in June 2025. This has thrown our entire family into crisis.
All supporting evidence, emails, receipts, doctor’s appointments, and proof of cancellation requests have been forwarded to the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (Complaint ID: 250613-21516043) and the Better Business Bureau.
We demand that Wyndham immediately acknowledge our formal cancellation request, stop all charges, and delete all negative credit bureau reports.
