1 Way Photo Aka One Way Photo These monsters are complete liars! Don't believe a word that they say! Brooklyn New York

These people, along with several other digital camera websites we searched, are a total bait and switch scheme.

My husband ordered an unbelievably good deal (I know, I know) from 1wayphoto.com and told me about it. The camera itself was actually a good price, the accessories and warranty, however, ended up bringing the price up to more than retail. When I called to cancel the order, I spoke with an extremely rude man named Steve. He berated me for having "stupid" questions and then gave me a total run around trying to convince me that their over-priced equipment was worth the price!

When I finally said I wanted to just cancel the entire order he was very irate and told me I'd have to pay a 9% cancellation fee ($68.00!!). I told him that my husband was not made aware of any such fee and he said it was plainly listed on their website under their policies. Their website reads "Any package shipped out and refused may be subject to a 20% restocking fee and non refundable shipping charges." I told Steve it was not listed on their website and he said yes it was, I just had to read better.

We were calling just four hours after the order was placed so obviously it had not yet shipped. I asked Steve if they could reverse the fee because it had only been four hours and they obviously hadn't yet been charged any fees by the credit card company yet so I didn't think we should be charged either. He said he couldn't do that. I asked to speak to his manager and, of course, Steve himself was the manager. He said there was absolutely nothing they could do for me.

I argued and argued with Steve for another five minutes until he finally conceded and told me he would cancel the order and not charge us anything just to get me off the phone and not have to deal with me anymore because I was so annoying. I was very relieved and told him I wanted an email to confirm the cancellation and that we would not be charged anything at all for the order. He complied but judging from the other posts I've read about them, I'm going to keep a close eye on my credit card activity to make sure they don't charge us anyway. Beware of these guys!!

Note: For whatever reason, all four of these websites had customer sales reps with Brooklyn accents and very brash/abrasive attitudes. I can't tell you how many times I was cut off, hung up on, put on hold for ten+ minutes, insulted, etc. If I call one more camera company and hear someone with that accent, I'm hanging up right away just to save myself any more grief.
