Received a statement of past due account and threat of collection activity for phone calls that were "made" using 1010-123 totalling $36.36. I've never used this phone service and questioned the validity, as only my initial was used and no apartment number. Was told I could receive a detailed bill and I could write a letter.
I responded that last year I had received a bill for phone calls made to South or Central America and this was cleared up at that time by a phone call to the customer service number on that bill. At that time, I was told to disregard the bill and it would be taken care of.
Today, the customer service representative, Eddie B. of Anderson, IL, told me I "had to prove I didn't make the calls." He suggested that I must have had a large party or someone else living with me who made the call/s prior to October, 2001.
