I wanted to try their vitamins, so I went to their website, www.12inone.com (also www.12inonenow.com).

They...

... display BBB Online Reliability seal
... display a black/red Verisign seal
... don't go secure
... don't give the "subscription option" before entering credit card info.

Based on the above, I wanted to research their company (12 In One) and Cellular Research LLC listed at the bottom of their website. I also came here to RipOff Report. I found three complaints about Dual Action Cleanse, another of Cellular Research products. But I found nothing about 12 In One in particular.

***CALL NUMBER ONE***
HELP LINE: 1-800-941-8032
I expressed my concern that I'm a student and cannot afford getting "accidentally overcharged". The guy was sympathetic and understood. But he said the only times he gets unsatisfied customers is when they are "uninformed" and forget they signed up for the subscription.

But you know what? How am I supposed to believe that when their website wants my credit card information before I get to see what all my options are?!

I went to BBB and found no membership under 12 In One or Cellular Research. I called their 800 number to find out how they justify using the dead-linked seals. The guy said check BBB for Ultimate Nutriceuticals. I did, and U.N. is there.

But BBB literally says UN and their website 12inone.com are NOT members of BBB. The company (U.N.) has the grade "BB", down from AAA, AA, A and BBB. The bureau also says U.N. has no complaints on file. So HOW on earth can they have a decreased rating of BB with NO complaints?

**CALL NUMBER TWO***
HELP LINE: 1-800-941-8032
I called their customer service number: 1-800-941-8032 and they said they'd call back by 20 minutes. Of course, no call came.

***CALL NUMBER THREE***
ORDER: 1-800-941-8012
After never getting the call back, I decided to this time ask specifically, "Are you, 12 In One, a member of the BBB?" The girl said, "Yes."

I asked how can this be as the BBB lists it as NOT A MEMBER. She says they were "asked" to be members and they are "working with the BBB" to being members. I said I cannot be a senior in high school and go around saying I am a graduate. "This is not justifiable. None of it can be verified and there is NO information about that."

She says BBB lists them as "Irwin Naturals" for the Online Reliability Program and can verify physically they exist because she's looking at the building and personally met Mr. Klee Irwin (the owner). I said I do not doubt this, but she sounds young and probably didn't quite understand how she's lying for them.

While on hold with the young lady, I looked up "Irwin Naturals" at BBB's Online Reliability Program list of websites--it literally is just a list of websites, nothing else. They are indeed listed. But I went to the website (www.irwinnaturals.com) and NO WHERE listed are:

**12 In One vitamins,
**Dual Action Cleanse,
**Cellular Research,
**Ultimate Nutricuticals,

When she got back online I told her. She still insisted they all fall under the same corp, so they are allowed to use the BBB seal.

Uh... no. They aren't.

Then I inquired about their dead Verisign seal. She didn't quite answer that. I told her their website does NOT GO SECURE when it gets to the credit card page. And according to Verisign.com, a legit company is required to display their member info and offer proper service. Her naive excuse is they are still building their website. What? I knew of this website and visited it MONTHS ago when I saw Klee Irwin's informercial. This is not true.

Not to mention, the SECURITY should be TOP PRIORITY before making a site even more slick than it already is. (It really is a good looking website.) So why is security so bad... NON EXISTENT?

This company (owner Klee Irwin) sounds shady and it seems he's spreading his company all over so many different limited liability companies. So many names, so many products, addresses, and phone numbers... and only ONE BBB and Verisign seal NOT appropriately licensed for use.

This is all so very TOO BAD, becuase I REALLY REALLY wanted to try their vitamins. But they way they run things now? OH NO WAY!

Here are extra numbers, names and addresses for those who need them:

All the below belongs to Mr. Klee Irwin.

#5 Consumer Comment

In Defense

AUTHOR: Edwardl - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Wednesday, March 05, 2008

When I received a second notification of shipment after I had cancelled my trial offer of 12-in-1 I did some research and came up with this site. I immediately thought that I was going to be in for a hard time.

It was just the opposite. When I cancelled the first time, I was told to keep the product and my account was only charged the trial offer fee.

After receiving the second notification of shipment and reading this article, I called 12-in-1 and was almost immediately connected with someone. When I explained that I had already cancelled this person immediately contacted her supervisor. In less than a minute I was told that it was their error and to keep the product shipped. Also, my card was credited back.

Needless to say, I was pleasantly surprised.

Edward

Charged credit card without authorization

AUTHOR: Tredsaw12 - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Monday, February 18, 2008

This company actually charged my credit card without my authorization and sent me their product. Not only did I not place an order with this company, I had never even heard of this company before. I can't, for the life of me, figure out where they got my credit card info from. I've heard their response may be, "you just don't remember placing the order". Well, they sent me "12-in-one soft gel multi FOR WOMEN", last I checked, I was definately a man. Besides, I don't take vitamin pills, there's no way I ordered this product.

#3 Consumer Suggestion

VeriSign Seal

AUTHOR: C - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Saturday, February 17, 2007

Hmmm. For some reason, the VeriSign link I posted disappeared when my comment published.

Let's try one more time.

THIS LINK EXPLAINS VERISIGN'S SEAL: (crossing fingers)
http://www.verisign.com/ssl/secured-seal/installation-instructions/verify/index.html

THIS LINK TO REPORT MISUSE: (crossing fingers)
https://www.verisign.com/support/ssl-certificates-support/secure-site-seal/abuse.html

If neither show up, go to VeriSign.com. In the search field up top, type in "verify". The first result is what you want: "How to Verify the VeriSign Secured? Seal - SSL Certificates from VeriSign, Inc."

After I published the comment above, I went to 12inOne again, just to make sure. The site DOES go secure now... as of Dec 5, 2006. Almost a YEAR after taking unsecured info over the net. And the company is NOT VeriSign verified according to the terms. They use Starfield Technologies, a GoDaddy company. Why not just be upfront about where they get their (late begotten) security?

VeriSign carries a long credible reputation, I guess. So perhaps stealing the logo is OK if nobody notices.

Solid proof rolling in that 12inOne is scamming people!

AUTHOR: C - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Saturday, February 17, 2007

Oh man. It's been a while since I've visited Rip-Off Report. I tried the other day, and the whole site was crashed down. Man, RoR is doing its thing! :p

Anyway, out of curiosity today, I re-checked Ultimate Nutraceuticals, LLC's BBB profile looking for two things:

***GOAL 1*** Did they finally make 12inOne a part of their BBB profile?
Answer: NO!! Look to the right of their BBB profile page, it clearly says, "This company is not a member of the Better Business Bureau. This fact does not disparage the company in any way."

No, but its grade sure does, as you'll find out in a minute!

BONUS INFORMATION!
Still no sign of 12inone or Ultimate Nutraceuticals, LLC being a part of the Online Reliability Program as is touted on their website!

***GOAL 2*** What is 12inOne's current BBB grade?
Boy, was I not surprised... RATED F! I posted the link before, here it is again:
http://www.labbb.org/BBBWeb/Forms/Business/CompanyReportPage_Expository.aspx?CompanyID=100036959

To help put this into better perspective, they were Rated BB when I first predicted their scam. Here's the BBB's scale for your amusement:

AAA
AA
A
BBB
BB B
CCC
CC
C
D
F NR

Oh, what a fast fall. I hope they had their parachutes ready. Most of their complaints deal with their shady billing and faked refund practices. I found another site where the complaints came rolling in over about a 3 month holiday period after I wrote the original Rip-Off Report. They had plenty written on Dual Action Cleanse, but nothing about 12inOne Multivitamins at the time. Today, they are rolling in.

Conclusion? DO NOT BUY 12-in-One Multivitamins from their website or by phone!

Not to mention, they lack site security. I'll say it again: If you enter your credit card information into their website, any hacker can see it! They are scamming the use of the Verisign seal. Now, I reported to Verisign, and I guess they don't care. But that's another file for another day.

In fact, maybe they just need to see an influx of abuse reports to get their busy attention? Let's give them the benefit of the doubt. To report 12inOne's Verisign Secure Logo abuse:

Anyway. WHO CALLED IT? Yeah, that's right, baby! I saw it coming: No way to opt out, no secure website, no confirmation practices! ALL RED FLAGS!

Tried to Inform Company to No Avail

AUTHOR: C - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Thursday, October 19, 2006

This is further "cultural" information of the companies called...

Cellular Research
Ultimate Nutriceuticals
12 In One
Dual Action Cleanse
Irwin Naturals
etc
etc

First, I politely greeted the operator (Louis? Luis?) and said I hadn't received a return call as promised. I briefly reminded him that I had questions based on questionable use of Verisign/BBB and lack of site security. Then I informed him of the Rip Off Report and that I contacted Verisign. As soon as the operator realized what I was saying, he cut me off:

"So basically you're just calling us to let us know that?"

"Yes."

"Ok then. Thank you for calling and have a nice day."

And then he hung up that fast. He didn't care at all about resolving, explaining, trying to find out about Rip Off Report... nothing.

I think they must get lots of unsatisfied callers because hanging up immediately came natural to him.

Good luck to anyone doing business with them!
