I am a Lawyer and regular visitor to the United States. Whilst on vacation to Orlando with my wife and son having visited Disney we made the 'mistake' of our lives to enter an unnamed store on 08/27/09 that had SONY logo and a few other manufacturers of electronics pasted on its Front wall, with the intent to buy a Notebook.

Immediately we entered the store we saw lots of items on display and curiously withou prices. I enquired about the price of a Dell Notebook having asked that all Notebooks in the store be pointed. We were been attended by a bearded male called Martin.

I enquired about a steel covered HP Notebook which later turned out to be HP 2133 MINI. Martin said they were wholesalers and never did retails only on few ocassions and that their prices were always very low.

I asked for the price and spec of the HP Notebook, he replied, $695 and that it was a 2GB and 1200 MHZ. He said being a 2GB the speed would be very fast. He was very reluctant to bring the specs and preferred to talk about it despite our demanding. I brought my Wachovia debit card he swipped and that was the end of that purchase. He now requested my son to come into an entertainment room where he showed cartoon to keep him busy.

My wife asked about WII at which point he said it was $279 and that a package (which also turned out after purchase to be false) containing drawings of sporting equipment combined together were all $355 excluding tax. My wife brought out her debit card from same joint account and paid.

Before payment my wife said the WII seemed expensive and he said since we were tourists he was selling to us a model that was not region coded in terms of the game CDs that would be compatible. He said it meant we could use CDs from any region or country and also download free on the internet.

Before and during the entire ordeal we had told him we were relying on his words that his products were lowly priced, of genuine quality which he made out and that the Cds would be compatible from all regions.

Suddenly, he took me into the room where my son was and said see this SONY projector it costs $1500 but because we are SONY Dealers you can have it for your boy for $1,100 excluding tax. I will add a small carry on bag to take it to your destination so it does not get smashed.

On trust i brought my card and paid and requested for the exact one he had shown me which was Black. When they brought the Projector it had been put in a small luggage case and i thought it was a bit suspicious. I asked that it be opened and saw the equipment had been Bubble wrapped but when i saw the manual and the cord it looked new so i did not bother to insist they unwrap the projector but complained about the lack of packaging box.

Also i was unhappy that the box had been opened behind our backs. They brought a box and cleverly put the bubble wrapped item (projector) inside without allowing us see this item (projector). When our suspicions grew he spoke Spanish to someone whom he said would assist in carrying the items to the car. We thought we were getting good service.

Next morning, we got out of our Hotel and drove back to base in Atlanta. I had the previous day taken the laptop to acquaint myself with it but all the other things were packed in two boxes and still unchecked by us.

When back in Atlanta, we entered Stores and enquired about the price of WII, we found out it was $249 plus tax and the box that had the sporting equipment was a mere $20 plus tax as it turns out to be mere covers for the remote for different games.

I again enquired on line only to find out my NoteBook was not a 2GB but 1GB and was a mere $299 plus tax and at the very most $399 and also it was the mini series Notebook 2133 he sold and not the NoteBook 2133. We immediately raced to the items to open them, we discovered the Sony Projector was white and not Black. When we enquired about the price of the Sony VPL -ES7, we were told it was a mere $549 plus tax. Whilst others had it for $579.

I searched for the receipt and found it difficult to see the Store name which turned out to be 192 Camera.com and telephoned them and Martin picks up the phone. He was very rude and cut the phone on me but before he did that i told him i wanted a full refund because we had dealt with him on trust which he had breached and he made material misrepresentations and concealment to us with intent to defraud us.

We spent the following amount in his store: $1,100 (Sony VPL ES7); $740.18 (HP 2133 NoteBook) & $355 (Nintendo WII Sports & Pega WII Sports Set). He had said and he gave us a remote computer Mouse worth $10, a small leather Notebook case worth $15, a small luggage carrire worth $30 and an RCA Splitter worth $12. We had spent a Grand Total of $2,195.18 and received gifts of $67.

All this while, a very young looking chap called Alfredo was on a laptop and right beside Martin whilst they talked and pretended to be giving us the actual things we thought we were buying.

I believe all requisite authorities and consumer complaints should be notified including but not limited to undercover investigations into the activities of this crooked individuals and their crooked company who continue to defraud people. I am willing to give evidence and testify against this company and their staff and would appreciate if the entire world and tourists visiting Orlando, Fl can be put on alert about this big scam they play. I would also like to know how best in terms of keeping my costs down that i can seek legal redress against this company and their staff for all the acts complained off.

Lastly, am i entitled to any legal aid on this matter?
