I took my laptop to fix it fast (aka many other names) that i found in the yellow pages. Jamie told me it would take 24 hours to replaced the cracked screen. Mind you my laptop worked perfectly except for the four thin black lines from the cracks.

I took my laptop to Jamie Steadman on may 6th 2008. On may 7th I went to pick it up and when Jamie turned it on it was just a black screen. Jamie then told me that my LCD inverter must have went bad. He kept telling me to look real close and I would see some images.

It was/is a company laptop, Needing my laptop ASP I told him to do what he needed to, but get my laptop working again I needed it for work. He then called me on the 8th telling me he could by pass the part he claims went bad, but I would not be able to adjust the brightness or anything else on the screen. i then told him I want my laptop back the same same way i gave it to him without the cracked screen. he then told me it would be ready by the 9th.

I called Jamie on the 9th he said the part did not come in yet. I then told him I was going out of town till the 18th to please just have it fixed by then. On the 19th I called and left several voice mails. on the 20th Jamie called me and told me the part came in wrong on (tuesday the 13th) and he just e mailed someone and reordered it today the 20th.

I then asked him to call and have it shipped over night i needed my laptop. He then told me they don't work like that they do everything through e mails only.
I told him i worked for a electronic company and I am sure he could pick up a phone and get my part over night.

On may 22nd I went and picked up my laptop Jamie charged my cc $357.00 after I signed my receipt, then Jamie said I would have to come back the next day to get my laptop because it was not put together after saveral minutes of a heated discussion Jamie gave me my laptop in pieces. I took my laptop to another company as soon as I left Jamie.

The next day the other company called and said the screen maybe wrong and the inverter has been soldered on the end. After another $462.00 the other company said that
When "East Coast Computers" received the laptop, the LCD screen & inverter were not given in a protective static bag. The inverter shows signs it was modified. The protective plastic on the inverter was peeled back and looks like a transistor was solded over. (made comparison with 2 other inverters purchased for the diagnostic)

The video display works fine through the VGA out put but not to the LCD screen display. After 2 LCD screens & 2 inverters replacement, made the determination that the modified LCD inverter most likely damaged the LCD output of the laptop screen!!!!!!!!!

Solution: replace laptop

When Jamie got the papers to go to court he called me and told me he was going to counter sue me. When i would not tell him who I took my laptop to he became very rude. Here it is 8/6/08 and I still am without my laptop. East Coast Computers gave me a loaner on 6/25/08. I still have that laptop until i go to court. Now that is a good company with great customer service!!!!!!!

Jamie is not only rude and childish he lacks everything needed to deal with people I truely hope someone stops him from ripping people off.
