Yet another frustration with using 1shoppingcart.com by web.com over the last 2 years. Now when customers put through order the Upsell Express works sometimes and sometimes not. If you didn't already know this "Upsell Express" from 1shoppingcart.com is an extra $100 per month. That is, if you have more than small handful of products you're selling through your shopping cart.
I've called to complain about the upsell function not working consistently and seek some technical support, but if you call they charge you $15 per call if you don't use their expensive paid support.
Why would you have to pay to get help using their software? -- Web.com and 1 shopping cart.com is just a huge money grab not a serious e-commerce tool. They have 200 times more people marketing this product than they do people monitoring the software and taking out the bugs I guarantee you there are.
The one shopping cart always has some glitch and malfunction. This is about the 7th time I've found a major hole in this 1shopping cart dot com software.
They update it for more "whistles and bells" constantly to impress new, naive customers who are new to e-commerce. But I have to tell you I found 1 shopping cart often doesn't process orders correctly, refunds you think are put through you find out weeks later were not processed due to a 1 shopping cart error.
When you call their support to report bugs and malfunctions they always deny there is a problem. Later they admit they've "had some problems getting the software to communicate with Master/ Visa but it should be fixed soon."
What? "Oh...I just lost a few thousand dollars I need to pay my mortgage and buy food for my kids this month. Oh maybe it'll get fixed soon." -- What type of excuse is that? web.com is pathetic.
Web.com is a complete sham business. They own companies like Solid Cactus who have been investigated be the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) many times over the last few years for their fraudulent SEO services where they charge a monthly fee, they pull the wool over your eyes and have you talk to their "almighty SEO Guru." It just the "Emperor Wears No Clothes." The Federal Trade Commission found a lot of evidence of them not doing their $3,000-$10,000 per month SEO services they had a legal contract to perform and charged for without providing the services. They claim they are providing the SEO services because once a month their intern college students or lowly paid gunts write an article for the clients website. (Did you know you can get a SEO optimized article on any freelance site for $5) They charge $3,000-$10,000 per month for that. That's why They're sister company is a complete fraud too. They fail to perform any SEO services because they claim, "we use best practices only." WHAT? -- It's a sophisticated way to charge for a service and not do anything but hide behind lingo. (A lot like the 1shoppingcart.com!)
How would I know? I have a business colleague who's a CPA who hired web.com or Solid Cactus for 14 months of services at $4,000 per month and that's what they did. Bill, bill, bill and make excuses and not do any SEO work. They just hide behind big words and SEO terminology to make it sound like they were doing something important.
The 1shoppingcart.com sister company operates the same way. They deny everything and never fix the problems. All their money is invested in their marketing not maintaining or fixing their broken 1 shopping cart e-commerce software.
Watch whenever someone writes a complaint about them they have people working for them whose only job is to respond and do "damage control." They'll write, "we want to help." The people who write that and try to justify the scam of 1 shopping cart and don't have any knowledge of these problems, the software programming, all the issues with their support department or the rip off created by the top managers of this company who run their company's like Solid Cactus and 1shoppingcart.com. The damage control doctors who respond back are just try to smooth things over and the problem with their software and company is never resolved. It's something out of "Reputation Management For Dummies" except 1shoppingcart thinks they customers are the dummies with believe their web of lies, justifications, excuses and blaming a review like for the problem. They won't ever accept responsibility for scamming e-commerce professionals who believed all their promises and are now stuck.
I realize no software works perfect and I wouldn't expect 1 shopping cart's to either, but I've lost thousands of dollars through credit card sales that don't process, $100 per month extra I pay for the Upsell Service that only offers upsells 40% of the time (see I have Upsell Express set up correctly I'm an expert in 1shopping cart now trying to fix all the problems and troubleshoot by myselft), recurring billing charge they add every time I bill a customer (a fee on top of what you pay to your merchant account) and so many other problems.
If you're considering using 1 shoppingcart don't make the mistake I did and choose the company who shows up on the first page in Google. They're on the first page of Google because they have a team of SEO people constantly working on their seo not because their shopping cart software works.
I was just on some health website the other day and guess what big banner ad I saw? 1shoppingcart. Can you imagine the huge budget they have to waste to pay to put big banner ads on totally irrelevant websites that have nothing to do with e-commerce?
They would be better off passing on the wasteful money somewhere else. How about investing some of your 1shoppingcart.com revenue into fixing your sofware malfunction problems not on the goons you hire to defend your scam business online and respond "we want to help." That is so fake.
Everything they do is snaky. Like I said when you first sign-up you see free trial and then $99 per month. They hide all the extra fees on the back end you're charged later if you have more than a few products, need to do more upsells and/or want to use recurring billing. They're per month charges on everything is not every 30 days. When you check your credit card statements the charge is every 27 days which is extremely deceptive. They think they're fooling people, but they're ruining their reputation and goodwill their customers and the public.
I'm going to get out of 1shoppingcart as soon as possible. If you think I'm exaggerating try their software and see for yourself. Good luck.
