1st Credit of America has been harassing me for a "cancellation fee" in the amount of $187 for My Perfect Credit. I never intended to sign up for My Perfect Credit and cancelled the service, with difficulty, as soon as I found out they were taking money from my bank.

This was back in February, now in July, I am getting calls from 1st Credit for this money or, according to them, they will report a "level 9" on my credit report. I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau against My Perfect Credit on July 26th and on July 27th told 1st Credit of America to stop calling me.

They called yesterday, July 31st, and left an "extrememly urgent" message regarding my account. This morning, August 1st, I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau against 1st Credit for harassment.

They called again today and I returned the message indicating that they were now harassing me for fraudulent charges, that their client is extorting money from people, and that I had filed a complaint with the BBB against both of them.

Mr. "Rufus" or whatever his name was, said they had every right to try and collect the money for their client and that I would be receiving calls from them daily. I am going to fight this to the bitter end and believe a class action suit against both companies should be instigated.

Still being HARRASSED!

AUTHOR: Andrea - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Tuesday, August 16, 2005

On August 11th 2005 I followed the advice of one of our fellow complaintants and submitted the following email to supervisor@myperfectcredit.com:
**************************
You people are a bunch of scam artists. I am constantly being harrassed by 1st Credit of America for charges I do not owe, nor never owed to your company! I have written complaints to the Better Bussiness Bureau's in California and Nevada, the Washington Attorney General and the Federal Trade Commission against your company and 1st Credit.

I came across a wonderful site, Rip-off report . Com, and also filed a complaint with them. It's absolutely amazing that you people are still in the business of stealing money considering how many complaints there are against My Perfect Credit and 1st Credit of America. Seeing how many people are now taking action, it shouldn't be long before your company is shut down. For your information, the Attorney Generals in many states know about your scam.

I am sick and tired of these unrelentless calls from rude people constantly trying to scam me out of more money. I would appreciate you taking care of this matter (my former email address was: ********) I do not owe a dime to My Perfect Credit nor 1st Credit of America and would like something in writing stating the same. I also think you should cease and desist this fraudulent behavior and write an apology to myself and all the other individuals you continue to harrass.

SINCERELY,

******
On August 14th, a Sunday (not "normal business hours"), I received the following email:

Thank you for contacting MyPerfectCredit concerning your account.

We have reviewed your account and informed 1st Credit of America to remove you
from collections.

Kind Regards,

Member Support Supervisor

Despite being so-called removed from collections, 1st Credit of American IS STILL CALLING ME! When they called today I just sat there on the phone until a woman came on and asked for me. Of course, I recognized the phone number on my caller ID, having received what seems to be hundreds of calls from them by now. The woman asked if I was who they were seeking and I said "Is this 1st Credit?"; she again asked if I was who she was looking for; I said I was who she was looking for and was this 1st Credit?" she said, hesitantly, "yes"; I said I had an email from My Perfect Credit stating I was to be removed from their list and I suggested they stop stealing money from people before they all go to jail and hung up. I again emailed "supervisor" and added that undue stress is certain to be added to any law suit to follow; we'll see what happens. I'm generally a very easy-going person and it takes a lot to get me upset, but this is ridiculous!

My Perfect Credit, 1st Credit

AUTHOR: Andrea - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Tuesday, August 02, 2005

I too was bullied by a representative of 1st Credit and originally ageed to pay the $187 "cancellation fee", plus the $5 "debit fee" to for fear of a negative impact on my credit report. I was in tears as I read off my credit card number to the representative because my husband and I have been working so hard to improve our credit and keep our heads above water financially and could not believe something like this could happen. Subsequently, after speaking with numerous people on the matter, I called my credit card company and cancelled the credit card to prevent the payment from going through. I am now, not upset, but VERY angry. I have filed complaints with the BBB, the Federal Trade Commission and written letters to both local and national news channels regarding both companies. I also intend to contact the Attorney General. I am still getting daily phone calls from 1st Credit, despite the fact I told them they were harassing me. They said they will continue to call until I pay. I'm thinking of purchasing a whistle to blow into the phone everytime they call (whistle blower in the literal sense); that is, only if there is an actual person on the line instead of a recording. The Attorney General in Nevada has indicated that My Perfect Credit is currently "under investigation", so hopefully their days are numbered. DO NOT PAY THESE PEOPLE! Instead, submit complaints with the FTC, BBB, the Attorney General and contact your local and national news channels. I am so happy I found this site and relieved that there may be a way to get back at them!
