In mid-June of this year, I agreed to have 1st National Payment Solutions be the credit card processor for new company.  They agreed to provide me equipment at no cost and they did offer a very competitive rate.  The sales rep., Cody, was very helpful and thorough.  I made it clear that this equipment had to work in a wireless fashion with my modem.  They told me to order some equipment from a national vendor (around $60) and they would have their technician install this for me.

The equipment came and after 3 1/2 hours of trying, the technician could not get the system to work.  He tried and tried and even got the technical support from the vendor on telephone.  They basically told him that the equipment I was using would not do the application, even though 1st National (Cody) told me that they had done this before and that it would be no problem.

Needless to say, I was very angry that this situation was happening, especially since I had several other processing companies that could have easily done this application.  I spoke to one of their Managers, Ron, about this situation.  He apologized for all the trouble.  I told him since the equipment provided could not do the solution they had promised, that I wanted to return this equipment.  He emailed me with a pre-paid UPS form to do this.  I also told him that since they could not deliver the application that was promised, that I would not be accepting any cancellation/termination charge.  He agreed and sent me an email telling me that this charge would not be charged.

Yesterday, I saw a $495 charge on my Business Bank Statement from 1st National Payment Systems.  I called and asked for Ron and they told me he was away from the office and would leave me a message to call back.  I also emailed him.  After not receiving a call back or email reply for several hours, I called 1st National Payment Systems again.  This time, one the managers, Steven, answered the telephone.  I asked for Ron and he told me he didn't work their any more.  He asked what I needed help with and I told him all of the events that had happened with his company.  He was very rude, condesceding, and nasty to me.  He said basically said, you signed a contract and it is too bad that the equipment didn't work.  I told him that I had it in writing from Ron that the charges would be waived and he told me that Ron did not have the authority to do this.  He asked me to send him the string of emails and to prove all the events as I had portrayed them.  I sent him about 6 emails that showed in detail that I was telling the truth.

I called him again today and he basically said that even though everything I said was proved in the emails, that he would nevertheless not be returning the money.  He said I could have my lawyer call his but that I would never win.  He said his lawyer would be free, while mine would cost me a lot money.  Again he was very arrogrant, nasty, condesceding and unprofessional.  I have filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and am considering my other legal options.

I would be very careful before ever signing a deal with this group.  They are very unethical and do not follow through on their agreements.  They could not deliver on their part of the agreement and took out $495 from my account even though I have it in writing that this would not happen.  Do not do business with this company.

Needless to say, the complaint that was lodged was legitmate.  However, when the owner of the company got wind of what was going on, he called me this morning and said he would honor their agreement and return all of my money.  His name was Mike and he was a gentleman about the whole matter.

In the end 1st National did live up to their agreement with me, so I take away this ripoff report.
