I was called by phone from a representative of GentMagsNow.com a magazine subscription service and , in short asked what magazines I would like to renew after he read off a list, and also of other incentives. I replied to renew my existing World War II History magazine subscription. I foolishly gave my credit card number (my mistake!) I was told the renewal would be $79.00. In a matter of days I was charged twice more for the same subscrption plus overseas charges (?) amounting to over $244.00 on my bank card. My bank graciously credited me back $158.00 of this but I am still on the hook for over $86.00
I have subsequently written to the publisher of World War II History magazine in Williamsport, Pennsylvania, advising them of this scam and my bank is investigating GETMAGSNOW.COM which I found has two addresses, One in Long Island, NY and another in Australia. The "overseas" charges apparently applied to the Australia address.
Their online email is 2getmagsnow@gmail.com which promises to provide help for any reason, so far, nothing.
