441 Truck Repair, located in Orlando, Florida, did a faulty alternator installation that caused other parts to short and cost me more in repairs. They have not made any attempts to rectify this problem.

On August 20, 2013 I had my 2003 Freightliner towed to 441 Truck Repair who diagnosed the truck as ‘no start and batteries dead.' I informed them the batteries had been replaced and were fine. I approved the alternator installation. The truck made it back to Atlanta. On 8/22/2013, while at a delivery, the battery light came on and while being unloaded, the truck shut down and had to be towed from the delivery location to my automotive and diesel repair shop, here in Atlanta.

I am the owner with great credentials of which includes an Electrical Engineering Degree from Georgia Southern University, I have been in business doing automotive and diesel service for 13 years, my technicians and I are members of IATN, ASE and the nationwide certified auto repair network. At my shop, it was diagnosed that the alternator’s wiring was incorrectly installed. The ground wire for the truck was connected to a 12 volt output source from the alternator that 441 Truck Repair installed. Wiring it up this way caused other parts to short out.

I informed 441 of this via phone, a faxed statement, and emailed pictures. The additional repairs total $5000 alone. 441 Truck Repair has not contacted me to rectify this issue, and their failure to do so has lead me to turn to my bank for further assistance in recovering expenses incurred due to the faulty repairs done by 441 Truck Repair. This company has conducted business in a reckless and irresponsible manner and needs to be held accountable.

"The ground wire for the truck was connected to a 12 volt output source from the alternator.....".  Are you saying there was a direct short from the alternator output to ground?  If so, there would have been no charging of the batteries and this would have shown up on the dash board meter as soon as the truck was started at the shop.  This would have eventually resulted in dead batteries.  Is this the shop located behind the truckstop?
