On 10/10/2015 the individual purchasing the engagement ring did not qulify due to his poor credit. Owner asked if i can co-signed for him. The ring this individual picked was $25,000. We were asked several questions in regards to income, etc. The primary holder lied on the application about his address. I found out after I pursue to dispute the account. 10/17/2015 I went to the store to pick up my earings that they were also supposed to matched. I disclosed that I wasnt getting married anymore due to personal reasons with the individual. They did not want to accept for me to leave the jewerly. At this point I knew they were not being understanding of the situation. I went a few times trying to return the ring with no luck. After recieving documentation from the company they deal with to fiance, I discover that on the application my name was typed and It didnt have my signature of approval. I also discover that the application had a different address for the individual. The income we both provided was not the same amount. At this point I had spoken to the owner twice in regards ti the ring . He said he would try to see if the manufacturer will accept it back. After a few weeks of waiting I had no idea this individual was not paying for it. He was not paying for it at all because he was not answering the calls nor receiving statements due to him lying on the address. I called the Jewerly back asking in status and the owner kept giving me the round around. I decided to go to a wholesale jewerly to get an appraisal. The place appraising my ring stated that it was not worth 8,000. I was so disappointed and drove to the jewerly place demanding an explanation. The owner continue telling me they were going to try to help me sell it. Until this date I have not heard from them. They really messed up my credit to a 525 score. I have been emotionally and mentally drianed trying to find a lawyer to help me with this case. At this point I am out of optiions and decised to put it out there for others not to get ripped off by jewerly places like this.

Rebuttal to Previous Report

AUTHOR: 4J Jewelers - ()

POSTED: Tuesday, September 13, 2016

In October 2015, the customer and the individual mentioned in the report were engaged to be married at the time. With her approval, she was used as a co-signer to help her fiancé be eligible for credit. Several questions were asked such as income in order to provide accurate information to the credit financing bank. It is not the salesperson's fault that the fiancé provided an incorrect address nor did he not double check if it was written down correctly.

However, the customer did not return back in October 17, 2015 to return the merchandise. Nor did she inform any of the sale's associates that she wanted to return it. Company policy states that there are no returns, but only exchanges within 7 days from the purchase date. The customer returned to the store in February 2016 demanding to return the ring because the wedding was called off. Roughly a month before posting to this website. It is also not the company's fault that the credit cardholder was not paying for the merchandise. All payments for the merchandise are carried out by the financing bank, not the jewelry store. The person at fault for "messing up" the customer's credit score is the fiancé, not the jewelry store. That is out of our jurisdiction.

Different jewelry stores appraises jewelries at different prices. Not all places will appraise it at purchased value. To the best of our abilities, we tried to figure out a way to help the customer. Whether be a trade-in for a different merchandise or help her sell her ring. We contacted the customer back in February 2016 after she wanted to return the jewelry to help sell it with/for her. However, the customer has not made any attempts to contact the jewelry store to move along with further plans since her last visit.

Although there is not much we can do at this point, we do feel sorry that it did not work out for the two individuals.
