I reserved a move date for 08-10-2013. I was told by Maria (assistant that reserved my move) I would get a call 24 hours before the movers come by.  On 08-10-2013, I did not receive a call. So , I called 50 states movers on 08-10-2013 and was told by the dispatcher the driver was on the way and I should give the driver a call.  When I asked why I didn't get a call the dispatcher said"do you want to move tomorrow"?

I was told by the driver I was not on the books to be picked-up on 08-10-2013 and the dispatcher called him a few minutes earlier to pick up my articles. The driver went on to ask how I was paying for the move. I said "check or credit card". I was told previsously by Maria, 50 states Movers accepts cash, checks, credit cards.

The driver went on to say he needs me to pay at least half in cash. Reason: he needed  gas money for his truck. Without the cash he wouldn't be able to pick up my articles.  I was highly upset with the way the company did not deliver the way they said they would when I reserved the move.

I was told my Maria the price of the move will only change if I add more boxes or furntiture to the order. Instead, once the movers came by they charged me for the stairs they had to climb to my apartment and the distance from my front door to the truck. Maria was aware of my steps but didn't give me any information on additional fees.

The driver stated the reason I was not told about the additional fees is because "50 states movers was trying to make a sale". I was very disappointed.

I spoke with Ashley about the addditional fees. She said she would speak to the owner about an adjustment on the additional fees. She was very unprofessional and her choice of words were offensive. Adam was dry and unconcerning offering a $50 /$140 credit. There was no mentioning as to why I was giving incorrect information and there was no apology.

I was supposed to recieve my articles no later than a week from 08-10-2013, instead I received my items on 08-28-2013. I made phone calls to 50 state movers on several occasions inquiring about my items. No one had an answer for me. If your in need of moving don't waste your time hiring 50 state movers, they are very deceiving and unprofessional.
