A-1 American AC Company Lied ,stolen programable thermostat, put small cheap one $550.char.pd$350.wth10pr.off, loud&harsh. Newport News Virginia

A -1 America AC Service,was called from phone book ADD.Was told service charge was $78.00,to be removed from bill if A 1. Did repair. Service man,came did not ID himself, didnot have a company truck. Didn't want to answer questions ,seemed annoyed Spoke harshly and raised his voice to me when he did answer.                                                                           

I was told the thromostat I purchased was for a heat pump unit. it was not.could be wired 5 different ways.Repair man told me we needed another wall unit,went to his truck returned put a small cheap thromostat in.Went outside check the Compresser,was working.

The repair bill was $550.00 for what he had done,I ask about the service charge.& the discount for seniors.I didn't expect the bill to be so high.When we called they wouldn't say what the fee was. The repair man said how about $350.00?Is that with the discount  and the service fee taken off. That service fee,don't  count,like it Doesn't exist,he said.He told me the unit needed charged,it was very low might stop at any time.The cost would be, $500.00.Is that the total? No in addition to the $350.00. So I refused the charge to the compresser.

The paper I was told to sign,repaire man handwritten.No Warranty.On it When he left gathered up my programable thromostat all the papers, instructions & parts put it in the box, took it with him. I gave him a check for $350. I told him I was not the owner of the house.The owner said I was over charged, And to cancle the check.He would call. He was told it was A flat fee.Per job.
