We entered into a contractual agreement with A Candid Image Photography since their website on the Knot indicated them to be "the best of 2007, 2008". The ACI representative scheduled a meeting at a Starbucks to sign the contract and we gave a deposit of $525.00. She was sweet and assured us that we would be very happy with ACI services.
We did not hear from any photographer after that. We sent multiple emails prior to the wedding asking to meet with the photographer without success (this is about two weeks before the wedding). No photographer ever contacted us. We felt like we were in the position of hosting a wonderful party for 500 people and not being able to discuss the menu with the caterer! We received an email from ACI two to three weeks after the wedding asking us to pay the balance of the contract!! What??!
I felt frustrated and angry with the company's lack of ethical standards and their refusal to stand behind the services they had promised to perform for a once in a lifetime event. I made multiple phone calls and sent emails to communicate with ACI, with no response. I did receive one email telling me the ACI representative was on a short vacation and would contact me the next business day. That never happened.
After numerous attempts to contact ACI, all I have received is an email from the company stating "All monies paid are nonrefundable". To their credit, in the same email, they asked to be notified of any breach in contract, a request with which I complied. I respectfully asked for my deposit to be returned. As you can tell by this complaint, there has been no response at all. I feel scammed. The reason I am posting this complaint is because I don't want anyone else to be in the same position we found ourselves in: confused, disappointed, and without opportunity for resolution without litigation or mediation.
I have seen other reports complaining about A Candid Image. I truly understand how they feel. Stay away from this company.

After I stipulated to A Candid Image that they violated their contract by not honoring points one and two of our contract (providing wedding photography services and one photographer for eight hours) I received an email today telling me the following, word for word, without corrections, additions, or deletions:
Madam, you have first specify the clause, then state how we breached. We respectfully request that you move one.
I am responsible for the bold print since it is difficiult for me to believe that a business could respond in such a derogatory manner and avoid all culpability.
It was signed by a person named Michael Bruno. When I politely called corporate headquarters to speak with the president, Mr. Zack, my call was answered by a female who refused to give me the official address of the corporation. I am appalled!!
