On February 18, 2006, we held a child's birthday party at a Ton of Fun in Owings Mills, MD. We rented two adjoining rooms, which cost approx. $500.00 for two hours! We paid $100.00 for a security deposit, which they now want to keep because we stayed 10 minutes after our set time to leave (we were putting on children's coats and shoes!) After getting into my vehicle, we realized that they had their clocks set 10 minutes fast!! A soda was spilled in the kitchen of the party room and it was initially stated that the $100.00 was being used for clean up expenses. Before we left we wiped down all tables, chairs, and floor. We made sure all trash was in the receptacles. The rooms were spotless. There were no damages.

There were also, approximately 5 to 6 games not in working order the day of the party. We were later told that we never asked for one game to be turned on and that is the reason it was not working. When I am spending $500.00, I expect all games to be turned on upon arrival.

All their games are from the 1980s!
This is not worth the money! The personel are lazy and rude! The owner was actually yelling at me on the phone!

OUTCOME OF COMPLAINT

AUTHOR: A Ton Of Fun - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Tuesday, March 18, 2008

In response to this complaint that the customer felt they were "ripped off", I'd like to state the facts as well as the outcome of this party room rental. Our room rental contract (that was agreed to and signed by the customer) stated the following conditions must be met in order for the refundable deposit to be returned;
Customer must vacate the party room by their specified time & room must be left in the original condition. Even though these terms were not met, the customer's refundable deposit was not retained.

With response to their complaint about the games not working, our staff keeps daily party logs and all games were in working order. The customer's complaint about the selection of games offered is very puzzling since they viewed the room prior to booking the party.
A Ton Of Fun has been in business since 1994 and prides itself on high quality products & outstanding customer service!
