My story starts out with my wanting to purchase a puppy. I live in the area and stopped by several weeks ago to browse. The first sign that something was wrong, was when one of their "sales persons" grabbed a puppy out of my hand and said "why don't you come back when you are ready to buy!" How professional! Several days ago, I returned to this store, going against my gut feeling. I used to be a salesperson myself, and let me tell you, these people will talk down to you and are very pushy! I purchased a 10 week, teacup yorkie for $1500. I didn't want to spend that much for a dog but my girlfriend fell in love with her. It was only after I got home did I start doing my research on Gary and World of Pups (also known as World of Pets). As it turned out, several of my friends actually used to work for Gary. YES, it is true that he starves the animals he doesn't sell in the basement and they subsequently die. Yes, it's true, he's been sued numerous times. The ASPCA has gone after him. He has a rating of an F with the Better Business Bureau. LOOK IT UP! He's been on Help Me Howard. I then started noticing the my puppy was coughing. Then, I found a pool of blood alongside diarhhea. I did further research and realized that there's no such thing as their WARRANTY for the dog. It was only one free visit to the vet. The vet being a particular vet a few blocks away from the shop. I later learned, and you will find this too if you scour the internet, that this vet is Gary's personal "HOOK UP". He signs off that the dog is fit (when in reality it's not) and then when you walk in to the store to confront Gary on selling you a sick dog, he tells you that the vet said he was okay so there must be nothing wrong with him. I took the dog to my own vet (because I didn't want to talk any chances) and it turns out she has kennel cough and worms. I walked into the shop to calmly speak with him. He immediately started prancing around like a madman and talking down to me. I pleaded with him to talk in the back of the store, as it was not professional to do so by the register, where other customers and co-workers could hear the situation. He resisted. He told me that if I wanted to return the dog, I had to give him $500 cash! (Mind you, the receipt says "NO RETURNS UNLESS UNFIT TO PURCHASE WITHIN 14 DAYS).He told me that all these reviews were bologna and my friends that worked there are just jaded about the situation because they got fired. The reality is, they quit! He told me to bring him some reviews. I turned to Google, Yelp, and RipOffReport and upon his request, brought in these reviews the following day. I walked in with a friend. Gary started threatening us, cursing us, and told us to leave the store. We refused to do so, as we had done nothing wrong. He tells my friend to hit him because he's dying to (BLEEP) somebody up. Of course, my friend and I are smarter than that and resist against our temptation to fist fight him. Gary then hits my friend and his back flys into a crate of boxes. We call the police. They come to the scene and say that they get called here all the time. Gary runs to the back, away from the police. I'm surprised the tough guy is no longer tough when the police come ;) I was shocked that he wasn't taken in. The ambulence arives and takes my friend to the hospital, as he is experiencing severe back pain to the point where he can't sit down. I accompany him and wait while he gets x-rays done. Diagnosis: Muscle spasm. They give him several medications to ease the pain. Next step...I am filing a complaint with the BBB, the ASPCA, PETA. I will also be contacting Help Me Howard and filing civil and criminal charges against this man. I mean come on! AGGRAVATED ASSAULT!!! NICE GARY! EVERYONE DO YOUR RESEARCH, PLEASE! I URGE YOU!
