DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!! (Price to unlock an apartment door $400+!) To anyone in need of a locksmith, PLEASE DO NOT make the same mistake I made. It was a terrible experience! Arrival time was extremely long, quoted 15min, took him 45min to get to my home. I was patient as I know traffic can be rough. "Technician" said he'd try his best to open the door without drilling the lock. He didn't try very hard and quickly said he wasn't able to open the lock and had to drill, clamp the lock open.
He drilled a bigger whole to install new lock. All of this at a "reasonable" (reasonable for someone unlocking a mansion perhaps) price of $400+! "Technician" attempted to run my card on his mobile device but was unsuccessful. Insisted that I go to the ATM to withdraw money, he would drive me of course. He insisted that I give him cash, when I offered to write him a check, he wanted the check made out to "CASH". I refused to write the check to cash and he finally gave me his name. He made me feel very unconfortable, he was borderline creepy!
He wouldn't give me the name of the actual company and said that he contracts with many of the online sites. They will rip you off!. People please do not use them, take it from someone who had to learn the hard way. Also, he was parked outside my apartment for a very long time after the transaction was completed. The name on my statement shows as Loyal Service LLC, PLEASE DO NOT CALL THIS COMPANY FOR LOCKSMITH SERVICES.

Yes, this is a nationwide scam

Go to the FTC(dot)gov website and read up on the locksmith scams. I am so sorry you were caught with this scam. I had the exact same thing happen to me a couple of years ago and had to learn the hard way. Apparently this is a well known, nationwide scam.
It is not only this company, but many different companies that appear to be locksmiths in your area. These scammers actually borrow the names and addresses and change it slightly to look like one of the legitimate locksmith company's. The company names are fake, the numbers all go to the same "locksmith broker" that sends out an untrained person to change your lock at a very expensive rate that is not disclosed to you until after the work is complete. In fact, they quote you a low price on the phone and the outrageous price comes after the work is done. They come in unmarked vehicles and require cash. I am amazed that he accepted a check from you.
Keep an eye on your account where he attempted to run your card but said it didn't work. I wouldn't trust that info to be accurate.
The way to prevent this in the future is to have a legtimate locksmith company in your area in your computer database or your phone before you need them. Check them out in advance so if you ever need their services you know you are calling someone that is trustworthy. If you need a locksmith for your car, call AAA. Use a real local locksmith with a local actual business address and you will be safe.
