* Exact same situation as above. I'm hoping by updating this site we can prevent this from happening to other users.

*Company pretends to have officesthroughout major cities, tells you EVERYTHING you want to hear and convinces you to send the drive. There is noreal company whatsoever.Just one guy who's actual name is Gare Henderson (gare.henderson@gmail.com). Uses an alias Robert Allen. The address wherehe has you ship the disk 6400 Newman Rd Clifton, Va 20124 is actually where he lives, as confirmed by Fedex. Not an office, not a lab. It's Gare's House. Check Google Maps to confirm.

*Fortunately, I only paid with a credit card (which he used to pay his electric bill at Northern Virginia Electric) and was able to roll back all the charges so I'm not out cash.

*He's actually very pleasant when you talk on the phone, he takes the scam as far as it will go, to the point you wondering if it's legitimate and there really was a mistake. IT IS A SCAM!

*No matter what you do, you won't get the drive back.

*I've been building a case on this gentlmen and trying to get him prosecuted. Call Detective Tom Polhemus. Reference Mr. Henderson, DRS and aaa-datarecovery.com (Make sure you have a signed receipt for mail fraud charges) at 703.246.7879 and explain your sitation. I've filed a report and am pursuing this to the furthest extent of the law. Also reach out to the FTC as well as a lawyer. It's really come to that.

*BBB has him on file. Sort of. He's got plenty of fake links around the internet that make it seem like the service is legit and BBB is kind of a red herring.

This guy is some sort of crazy terrorist

AUTHOR: Gare Henderson - (United States of America)

POSTED: Sunday, May 15, 2011

Data recovery is a risky business, people send in their drives only when regular computer experts have given up.   As a result we require all customers to acknowledge that this work is done as experimental work only.   Over the years we have had many successes, and have extensive list of satisfied customers. However, what we have found over the years is that our customers are panicked people who have, often due to the negligence of their employees, but more often due to their own lack of foresight, have lost valuable data that belongs to others.   A few of these people will not accept anything but success, and become quite irrational when we are unable to do the impossible.  As a result we have been harassed, and villified.   In this case we  were at least the second company that this fellow had sent his drive to.  The drive was badly damaged, and as a result we referred it to another shop in CA.  They did misplace the drive, but it was eventually returned.   However, this guy decided to target us with some sort of robot denial of service application that sent us thousands of email every few minutes from thousands of differnt computers, which he has obviously infected with spyware.  He is behaving as a crazy terrorist, and we have reported him to homeland security...what action they have taken we can not say.

As far as his complaints about the scale and nature of our operations, I can only say that he did send the police here, and they seemed to concur that he was both ill-informed and irrational.

We were one of the few firms that would take jobs on spec, with no pre-payment.  But no more, we now require up fron cash payments...due to this guy.

I don't want to go back and forth with this guy, so I won't mention his name, but you decide.
