I called AAA Parasail to inquire about their parasailing prices from The Entertainment Book. After calling the various parasailing companies and figuring out the best rate, my friend and I decided to book with AAA Parasailing. I phoned AAA to inquire about openings for that day and phoned my friend to ask for the best time that corresponded with their openings. I then called AAA to make a reservation, to which the AAA employee asked for my credit card information. I gave the info and finalized the meeting time and place.
A few minutes later, my friend phoned me to notify me that he found a parasailing company with better rates and asked if we should change companies. I told him that The Entertainment coupon for AAA states, "Will match or beat any competitors price", so we don't have to change to another company. I phoned AAA to inquire about their advertisement in hopes to keep my reservation and save the hassle from changing to another company.
To my surprise, the AAA employee replied harshly, "I'm so sick of your phone calls. This is absolutely ridiculous. I'm going to charge your credit card right now!", then quickly hung up the phone. I was appalled. The AAA Parasailing employee threatened to commit fraud with my credit card. By the tone of his elevated voice, it sounded as if he was going to charge a reckless amount to my credit card that I gave in trust to make my reservation. I don't think it was wrong of me --or any consumer -- to call parasailing companies to inquire about their rates. Furthermore, when my friends tried to file a complaint with AAA, the employee who answered the phone repeatedly hung up and then ignored the phone calls. I don't know if the complaints got to the AAA manager. AAA Parasailing had terrible customer service, false advertisements, and an employee who threatens to commit fraud. Do NOT go parasailing with AAA Parasail/AAA Watersports!
