In the middle of February of 2018 I signed a contract with AAA plumbing of Newington CT. to install a shower and repair a leak in the old shower. I gave them a check for $1900 with the total for work, $3.800 due when the work was completed. Once I signed the contract I lost contact with them. They told me I needed a specially cut Terrazo shower base for the shower since it's so narrow.  However, I could not get any information out of them as to when they would begin work. When I called their office, the receptionist would immediately transfer my call to the manager who would not answer.

After a week or two I got an email from the manager, Dan Allan. It was actually mistakenly sent to me and was meant for another customer. I lept at the chance to finally hear something from him and wrote back to him desperately asking when I could get my shower installed. Dan replied apologizing for the mistake and that was all. Nothing else. I was furious. I called the office again, obviously angry and still got nowhere. Later that day the receptionist actually called me to tell me it would take four weeks for the base to be delivered. I was stunned. I needed the downstairs shower because I have arthritis in my knees and it is painful for me to climb the stairs.

I found another plumbing company which poured a cement base for the shower which took less than a day to do. The rest of the shower took only a week to complete. When I hired the next company I called and cancelled with AAA plumbing and asked for my deposit to be returned. They informed me (in a series of calls) that due to their having to cancell the work on the Terrazo base, they couldn't give me all of my deposit back. I agreed. This was early March.

In April, May, June, July, August and September I called AAA asking for my money back. They kept telling me someone would call, etc. But I never got the money back. Finally in September I contacted BBB in Connecticut and the Connecticut Departent of Consumer Protection. AAA plumbing contaacted me on September 20 informing me that they would mail me a check for $1,700 on the 28th of September. 

On October 12 I wrote AAA plumbing again asking for my money.
