Bought a 99 civic ex coupe based on photos and verbal description and assurances from dealer. had ebay store when I bought car but closed the store before delivery complete. Feedback at ebay was good. so I felt comfortable completing sale.funds were received on about 4/10/09 car not delivered until 5/7/09. When car was delivered ,no inspection was done. Air intake was missing, brake booster was faulty. The cd player described in the ebay store was ripped out. as was the AC Compressor. The sunroof was non functional and dash panels were hanging by wires. This car was modified with performance parts, which was never mentioned in the ad or during conversations. I took my life in my hands driving this wreck home... Tries at communication have failed. E-mail was not answered and phone communication fails because voice mail is full...

Michell Padget- AACE Automotive- Car Central

AUTHOR: Gregg - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Saturday, July 11, 2009

I have been consulting this with State DMV Enforcement. Padget messed up when the car was delivered without inspection. A violation of State law. Also, The temp tag was blank and without a temp registration, also a violation. DMV e mailed me they are filing charges, and I have filed suite in small claims court. Don't think I can lose because the law says that to deliver a car without inspection is per say negligence. Padget has a new company called Car Central. The State and County are looking in to his actions. He is no longer on E bay .One post I read on Merchant Circle states he was excluded. He is now all over the net selling cars. Just Google Car Central Forest City, N.C. Hope I get satisfaction before he gets sent up. By The way to my critic. Padget's feedback on E bay was 95% positive. . Shortly after he got my money he closed his store and moved on . Can't say why I think this, but I think the inter state commerce here maybe a big problem for Padget in the near future.

Sick And Tired

AUTHOR: Joe - (U.S.A.)

Jim,
I am so sick and tired of you constantly berating people who buy cars from Ebay Motors. I am an Ebay motors power seller since 2002 and have sold close to 1000 cars, trucks and suvs there. My feedback rating is ONE HUNDRED PERCENT POSITIVE!!! I have had customers drive or fly in from all over the United States and have left happy, I have shipped vehicles all over the world with the same result. I have had repeat customers come to me from hundreds even thousands of miles away. So when you sarcasticly ask " what did you expect" all of my customers will say "excellence" and that is exactly what they received.

We All Feel So, So Sorry About Your Experience!

AUTHOR: Jim - (U.S.A.)

Dear Gregg:

Let us look at one of your opening lines...here is what YOU said: "...based on photos and verbal description...". Then you brought this STUPID E-Bay garbage into this.

Do you think it was quite prudent to buy a car this way or is it all the fault of the seller? You and I both know of the nature of the car business in this country. Shall I describe it? The Sleazy American Car Business!"

Given the facts in this case, how or why would you or anyone else buy a car, sight unseen and then cry and whine when you find out you've been taken?

Buying a car in this world is like stepping into a mine field. The business is FILLED with sleaze and slime. Not all car dealers are of this ilk but far too many are. You and I, Gregg have the responsibility to be a SMART CONSUMER...to take whatever actions we need to take to protect ourselves from being taken by the scum of retail. You are one who was taken and you allowed it to happen.

Buying a car, sight unseen via E-Bay or any other route is just plain industrial strength stupid. You've paid the tuition on this lesson. Now Gregg, lets see if you can apply it to ALL of your future purchases.
