Original transmission failure 18 months ago, towed to Lawrenceville AAMCO, quoted "upgraded" rebuild of transmission to meet latest specs on transmission for my Pontiac 5.3L V8, claimeed to have used high quality heavy duty rebuild parts, done by a 25 year experience "expert

Recently engine developed surging, and after a week hard clanking noise on shifting, fluid levels normal

returend to AAMCo to find new owner who claimed that he had no responsibility for the past owner who corporate AAMCO was had serious financial probelems, and an extensive history of poor service and dishonesty.

Rebuilt transmission again, saying that there was new damage

Car returned "fixed" and surging continued on the way homw getting worse

Consulted with local transmission expert and GM dealer, both of whom told me that the DOD Active Fuel Management had to be reprogrammed after a rebuild or that damage would be done to the engine and transmission. Surging caused by faulty DOD Active Fuel Management, not transmission, but may have damaged transmission

Indicated that there appear to be serious lifter problems as a result of the lack of programming to sync the DOD poperly

As a consumer, you are at the mercy of the individual franchise, AAMCO corporate leaves you hanging and assumes no accountability, even when they are aware of the bad franchisee
