My daughter took her '96 Town & Country Chrysler Van to Aamco Transmission in Dec., 2002 for a new transmission costing $2,000.00.

September 19, 2003 Aamco had to replace the transmission. November, 2003 she went back to Aamco for slipping of gears. Aamco lubricated parts, stating there is nothing wrong with it.

She returned in December, their technicians drove it and said nothing was wrong and that the warranty expired from the first installation and was not extended from the second installation. They said there was something wrong with the brakes causing it to grab.

March 23, 2004 She took the car to Ken Towery to fix the brakes, and routine check up before her trip next week. They informed her there was nothing wrong with the brakes the transmission was in very bad shape. They replaced tires and oil change.

3/23/04 -went back to AAmco, they said they would charge her $1100.00 to replace the transmission. They also gave her a report "dated in 1999" that this car needed an upgrade before they would install another transmission. They could not do the update and made her appointment with Perkins Motors to do that upgrade today. She paid $70.00 for the upgrade. That did nothing for the transmission.

Aamco would not offer any assistance with this problem. My daughter was very upset that she had been there several times and they kept insisting there was nothing wrong with it until the warranty expired. She told them just because she was a woman didn't mean she didn't know something was wrong with the transmission. He said women like her is what gives women a bad name.

There is NO WAY I would ever have Aamco work on anyone's car.
They do not stand behind their work and apparently do incompetent diagnose of problems. They have a very nasty attitude with their customers once they get their money.
