My wife and I have been Aarons customers for some time now, a few payments have been late but the account is up to date. This Christmas Eve my Wife and I went into the Arrons store on Dorothy Lane In Kettering, Ohio looking to lease a LCD Televison. I first spoke with a sales rep who new me and was very nice, he had delivered my furniture to our place when we rented it, It made me feel kind of nice to know that this sales rep remembered my wife and I.

We spoke about the TV and I explained to him that i have an open account at another Aarons store in Dayton, Oh, I had asked him what it would take to have my account transfered to his store and he stated just a phone call and let them know. I said alright and left the store explaining I would probally be back.

Later My wife and I returned to the store, she was not with me the first time, and I was showing her the TV, When the same sales rep aproached us and started talking, we asked him again about transfering the account to his store, he called the other store and explained to them about transfering the account, The other store called back and said a payment would need made to bring the account up to date and we could only pay at the other store. Now the other store is a 1/2 hour drive away, we went there and spoke with the store manager and made a payment and explained to him we was interested in Leasing a TV, He had said that the District manager had spoken to him while we were on our way there and said due to a few payments being late, we could no longer rent from them.

We left the store and proceeded back to the store In Kettering, When we arrived the Sales rep would not help us, Look at us Or speak to us in any way, A few minutes later another sales person approached us and asked our last name, when we told him, he had asked if we spoke to the other store manager, This is when we found out that we was now dealing with the District Manager, He said that there was nothing they could do for us due to a few payments were late, we were unable to get help in either store, IT WAS SO EMBARISSING THAT WE LEFT THE STORE, The sales rep or manager did not do anything to help us at ALL.

I though something was strange when they said they could not take a payment at that store, Also that the other store was phoned and told what to say when we arrived, This account will be payed off in January, THEY WILL NEVER GET ANYMORE BUSINESS FROM ME, MY FAMILY OR ANY OTHER INDIVIDUAL THAT MAY ASK ABOUT RENTING FROM AARONS. I ENCOURGED ALL PEOPLE WHO READ THIS TO PLEASE TAKE THIS STORY INTO THOUGHT WHEN THINKING ABOUT RENTING FROM AARONS.

Hello, I worked at aaron's in an ohio location until december of 2007. There is no reason they should have treated you like that. I was an accounts manager and was able to approve people for leasing from our company. EVERYBODY has late payments--some rarely, some always. For that reason they have all the different ways to help people. People who do not get released to are people who took off with merchandise, were always extremely late, or people who returned items everytime. The store you went to will eventually learn. If they turn down people who are late on payments but always pay... they will not have any customers after awhile.

In a business like that certain things are expected. I say if they do not want your business... take it somewhere else! They will end up getting a bad reputation like some other locations and regret their decisions. By the way... they lied to you... you can make a payment at any location as long as it is a corporate store which I believe the ones you stated are both corporate (called a padlock payment.) Some are a franchise and have nothing to do with the others. Sounds like they lost a good customer!
