Apon going to Aarons rental to rent a big screen TV and a couch for my house we were informed if we don't like it we can return it and the money will go towards ANY instore credit at ANY Aarons store across America...

Well that was not at all the case not only did we get a TV that we couldn't watch because it was broken when it got here but after waiting for 6 weeks for our TV to be returned , Still hasn't come as of yet and it has been 8 weeks.

We found out they sold us a REPO tv not a new one and not only are we paying more for this REPO tv than a new one but they REFUSE to let us cancel our agreement and get a cheeper TV as it turns out you can't do that. You can only cancel your agreement and get your money credited on that same piece of equiptment IF they still have it.

Oh and our TV is actually a 24 month contract when the sales peron informed us that it was only a 12 month contract so thats how thry got not only me but alot of other people in our town..

A total crock of poopy if you ask me. I am now looking at filing agaist Aarons.

the problem there James , is that AARONS isn't always forthright with the customer or closing the agreement very fast and then say - sign here , without explaining everything. If AARONS is such a great company , then why do they have such a high employee turnover??

#2 UPDATE Employee

How about reading the paperwork you signed!!!!!

AUTHOR: James - (U.S.A.)

Not only in this instance, but with most of the complaints logged here....If you simply read the paperwork that you signed...called your lease agreement....then you would not have any problems!!!

First...if you return merchandise, then the money paid is considered rental payment for the time you had it and there is no return of or credit of any monies paid. You do have an option to "reinstate you lease agreement" and not lose out on the money previously paid by coming back..finding the same item, if available, or one just like it of equal age and value and continue your lease where it left off when you returned it.
It is called lifetime reinstatement and can be used at any Aarons store.

If there is an issue with service not being handled in a timely fashion, the you should call the Geneal Manager of the store or the local Divisional office to speak to someone hirer up the food chain for help. ANY BUSINESS can run into having an associate not give the service they should, and you should let a member of upper management know about this

Thirdly..Aarons carries new and pre-leased (used) items. All items on the saled floor are priced with a tag that should say if it is new or pre-leased, and if pre leased..it will be discounted about 10-30% off the original lease rate as well as the cash and carry price being reduced.

Finally..Aarons offers a 12 month ownership program on any item in the store and on other items that are more expensive, you can do 12/18 or 24 month terms. On the top of the first page of your paperwork, it will tell you the item you are getting..whether it is new or pre-leased and the price and term. It is big as day and very obvious.

In closing..I'm sure anyone can have a bad experience with any type of business out there. Thousands and thousands of people choose to do business with Aarons all accros the country at 1 of our 1400 or so stores and have great experiences.

Read your paperwork, familiarize yourself with Aarons' program and how it works and you will not have any problems.

....did you NOT read the contract before you signed it?

If a salesman tells me that I can rent a TV on a 12 month contract and the contract shows 24 months, I would not be signing - I would be asking questions right there.

Read your contract carefully to see exactly what you can or cannot do.
