ABA Painting Mike Kennedy ,Scam, Harrison Twp Michigan

We saw his(Mike Kennedy) add on craigslist and called him for an in home estimate. He seemed like a normal person to us at first and gave us a quote of 1400$ for a painting job. He came the next day with the contract and took half the money from us(700$).

He was going to start the work on 05/22 and in the morning he said he is running behind on some work and will start the next day. We were ok with that. The next day he is like, he does not have people to work for him because it is a long weekend and will start the work after the long weekend.

After talking to him for a while (since we were in a hurry to get the work done and already paid him half the money) we agreed for tuesday. On tuesday, he again wont start the work and wont even pick up the call. After about 10-12 calls he calls me back and threatens me that he would come to my apartment and hit me. I called cops and filled a report for that. 

He promised to give the money back by friday. I waited till friday, i could not reach him so i called the office number which some lady picked and said that mike is in jail. Now I am again trying to reach him or his work phone number but no one is picking it up. I am about to file a court case against him and his company. I have all the proofs and phone call recordings. 

My suggestion to you is dont ever hire him or his company for any job.
