Abbott's Florist & Gifts Kay's Florist Bellaire Tx NOT A LOCAL COMPANY AS ADVERTIZED AND NOT DELIVERING FLOWERS AS PROMISED. Internet

In late December, 2009  I went on the Internet to find a local florist to deliver an arrangement to the funeral services for my wife's Aunt. The location was a small town and therefore only 3 listings showed up. From those we chose "ABBOTT'S FLORIST & GIFTS, FAMILY OWNED AND OPERATED SINCE 1970". We ordered an arrangement and received a conformation from Abbott's, and considered our efforts complete, WRONG!! Several weeks later we had occasion to speak with my wifes cousin, and found that THERE WERE NO FLOWERS DELIVERED TO THE SERVICE FROM US. Checking our credit card invoice we found that we were billed for the flowers along with over $23.00 in additional charges.

Following up with a call to Abbott's I found that Abbott's was not a florist in the small town as claimed but is actually an order taking operation that forwards orders to florist's in the desired area to fill the delivery. They had no explanation as to why the flowers were not delivered but stated they were "sorry" (really helps) BUT HAD NO EXPLAINATION AS TO HOW THE ORDER WAS LOST BUT THE CHARGE WAS APPLIED TO MY CREDIT CARD! They claim they will issue a credit to my account, WE WILL SEE!

Further investigation revealed that this company has a bad reputation for poor follow up and not delivering orders as promised, also they operate under A LONG LIST OF NAMES.

They claim to be FTD recommended, if this is so, FTD should wake up!!  A WORD TO THE WISE, if sending flowers find a local florist in the town you want the flowers delivered to, and verify they are actually a business with an operating location that will fill your order without a middleman involved.
