ABC Construction LLC ABC Contractor NJ Inc Fraud scam artist total ripoff takes money and ran Paramus or Oradell New Jersey

I Took a few estimates when wanted to update the bathrooms in my house. ABC construction owner Charleston (Chuck) Masterson came with great presentation and acted professionally as one would expect and decided to go with him.  Once the contract is signed and deposit is given to Chuck. He will show up the first few days with the demolition crew to demolish whats needed and leave all the garbage outiside for about a week before the dumpster is called. 

In the meanwhile, when you are worried and call him, he would return your calls very very slowly and show up only 1 or 2 days out of the week to do 2-3 hours of work on the house. All of this while there's no permits that were issued, when I brought the issue up. He said its standard procedure to start the work to avoid the time taken for the building department to issue the permits until the building department showed up one day to stop the work. When this happens, there was some money already forked over to him when some work is being performed.

While pushing him to get the permits done and resume work, he will ignore me for a few days and then answer my call once to tell me it's being worked on and promised a deadline for the submition of paperwork. That day came along and no paperwork has been filed or is he anywhere to be found.  No phone calls are answered, no text messages returned, nor emails.  On October 30, 2013. The message on his phone says there's a death in the family and will not be able to answer the phone for a week. 

Basically he took my money and ran.  I have filed a police report and in the process of trying to hiring a lawyer to sue him as well as trying to hire someone else to finish what he has started.

Please anyone else with similar situation stop any payments made to him and report him to the police.  This guy is a fraud and a scam artist. Avoid at all cost.
