Abelard Construction been hit by a storm? lock your doors and hide from these guys Internet

Be aware.

In 2010 my town was hit by a tornado.  Within a day, Abelard joined the Chamber of Commerce and started hiring people off Craigslist.  All the bad things I've read in the other reviews were true.  I happened to be very involved in the business community at the time so I am privy to more than just my own experience with them.  

Follow up with homeowners to be the point of stalking to get them to sign over your rights to negotiate with the insurance company to them.  Promise the homeowner anything/

Hire jokers from Craigslist or anywhere else but never get the job done (ask them if they have construction positions open...they don't...because they hire subs off the Internet)

Expect them to be your best friend, until you sign on the dotted line and they get your money from your insurance company.  Then expect to never hear from them again.  Read the reviews and see how many people are left with unfinished roofs.

On top of that, when they came to my town, they used local business owners for advertising and marketing work, then just ignored the invoices and never paid.  

Of course, they are long gone now.  

There were so many complaints about what they did that our chamber is consider new guidelines for membership because they do not want another fly-by-night-rip-off company to take advantage of the them and the credibility that their membership should bring.
